READ MOREThe population of Venice, Florida was 25,463 during the 2020 U.S. Census. In that same year, 393 people died from Alzheimer's disease. That was an increase of 24.37% from 2016. Since 61% of Venice's population is 65 and older, many more residents are expected to develop Alzheimer's and related dementias in the coming decades. Thankfully, seniors with this diagnosis can live long, enjoyable lives with dementia care and other resources.
Memory care is one option people in Venice can turn to when a family member is diagnosed with Alzheimer's or other types of cognitive diseases. These long-term care communities are staffed around the clock by caring professionals with experience and training in helping seniors with memory loss. Caregivers assist with daily activities and coordinate therapies and programs that may slow rates of cognitive decline. More information about memory care, including cost information, is available in this guide. Families will also find links to resources in the community that can improve their quality of life when facing dementia.
