Warm Heart Family Assisted Living - Frederick was run down and not updated. They need to make it more wheelchair accessible and updated, like the carpets and the paint to make it more appealing. The staff was very pleasant and it's a good location.

Warm Heart had stairs, and it would be a problem for me to be able to get to the main floor. It was basically a private home, the people were nice, and I had a nice interview with the lady. There were 4 or 5 stairs, and I don't do stairs at all. They were very nice and helpful, and they helped me up the stairs and everything, but I would not have felt comfortable being there knowing that I could not get down on the stairs on my own in case there was an emergency. The dining room was basically just a kitchen area, so there was just a simple table and a kitchen area. It was nice, but it felt more like a nursing home in the sense that the people were just sitting there. They did not seem to be engaged with each other. They tried to comfort me when I got nervous, and they were really good in doing that. They were very good at being right there when I was afraid of walking and stuff, so they accommodated my needs very well while I was visiting. The environment was satisfactory. They were there for them, but I don’t think there was as much attention.

Warm Heart was not what I was looking for for my aunt, and I was not impressed with it. The ones who are working there were around, but they didn’t seem to be really interacting with the residents who were just put in front of the television. Their menu looked adequate. It was a house, so there were just bedrooms and a small living room with a television, and that was where all of them were. It smelled, but it looked clean. It didn’t seem very orderly, it looked like people were just kind of going wherever, and I just was not impressed.

Warm Heart seemed very nice, and the rooms were very nice. Everyone there was very nice, and the people staying there looked very happy and very well taken care of. Everyone seemed to be very knowledgeable, caring, detail-oriented, and seemed like it would have been a nice place. The price was a little high, but the location would have been perfectly convenient. Security was very good.

I visited this facility

It looked like there were four or five residents with one person at Warm Heart Family Assisted Living. I had scheduled an appointment, and there was no communication, so they didn’t know I was coming. They just didn’t seem prepared. It's a house made into a facility, which was OK. The people there seemed nice, but I don’t think it would have been a good fit my husband’s grandmother. The room looked tidy. There was a curtain in between separating the clients. It was just a curtain on a string in a shared room, which was fine if you want to separate them, I guess. Normally, there’s no curtain, so I guess it’s OK if you want some privacy.

I wasn't really impressed with Warm Heart Family Assisted Living. When I got there, the aide couldn't let me in until she verified with the person in charge. I saw the place, but it wouldn't work out for Dad because the room that was available was a shared room with a female. The one room that I saw was like a family home with a bedroom and two beds. They provide three meals a day. The kitchen had a counter with a gated door, so the residents could not go into the kitchen. When I went there, some residents were just watching TV, and I didn't really see any amenities.

I visited this facility

I visited Warm Heart Family Assisted Living. Although it was crowded, it had a good feel to it. People seemed happy and communicative. It was a nice day, so people were outside sitting on benches and talking. The atmosphere was good. Some people were at a round table playing a board game inside. I thought it was excellent. I, myself, would enjoy going there.
