Jerry Schmitt graduated from Cornell College in Iowa in 1988. Schmitt is a Certified Financial Planner® (CFP), Veterans Administration accredited claims agent and principal of WealthCare Consultants, Inc., a retirement and estate planning firm located in Oak Brook, Ill. WealthCare is a registered investment advisory firm in the state of Illinois. WealthCare offers workshops for Veterans and advises senior care companies, including Right at Home, Inc., an in-home care and assistance franchise organization, to help them offer the best care to Veterans.

Schmitt focuses on Veterans benefits and long-term care payment strategies. Schmitt has been a member of the Illinois Continuity of Care Association (COC) since 2006 and serves as current president of the Three Rivers (Joliet) Region. He is currently the Nominating Chairperson for the State COC Board of Directors.

Schmitt lives in New Lenox, Ill., with his wife and four children.
