The Reserve at Pasadena was larger and the memory care rooms were slightly larger than the other place I had seen, but at the same time, the facility was older. It was not more modern. It was a slightly dated facility, but still very clean and very functional. It just felt a little bit more like an assisted living home, whereas the other place I saw was more like apartments and condos. So, it had a different feel to it. The sales director was a little spastic. She had to go and get this and go and get that. So she seemed a little bit less organized.

I like the people at The Reserve at Pasadena. The people who greeted us were very helpful and very understanding. They walked us to the place, showed us what we needed, and what they had available, and asked me more questions about my mom, which was what was important. I was going for the memory care, which they have, but after the lady and I talked and told her what my mom's stage is, she pretty much recommended assisted living and that was another thing that I like about them, that they were not trying to take advantage. They were trying to find what was suitable for us. It's not a new place. It's an old building, but it's very cozy. It's not as modern as the other ones that I've seen, but it's more homey looking.

The Reserve at Pasadena probably needed a little bit of updating, but the people were nice. The rooms were spacious and the staff I met were very pleasant. They made a meal for me and the food was good. They had a salon, an outdoor courtyard area, and a community area, too.

Lisa was so pleasant and informative. We greatly appreciated not feeling pressured. One of my sisters and I visited the facility and then later my sister and Mom visited. The facility was very nice; however, it is more expensive than the location my Mom is current living. As soon as we get our Mom qualified for Patriot Angels she want to move to The Reserve. Her lease is up in a month, but my understanding is that she can qualify for Patriot Angels yet.

The Reserve at Pasadena was very clean. The lady that showed me around was extremely helpful. The apartments were very nice and very large. You had options. You could have a private room or shared room and their prices were flexible enough. If you needed a lower price, then you could share a room with someone. Plus it would give your loved ones someone to talk to. The dining area was nice. They have their own chef and they accommodate if there are any health restrictions. They have arts and crafts activities and exercises in which they try to encourage the residents to come and join in. I think some people, like my mother, need that encouragement to get out and get more active. As much as I liked it, it wasn't an option for us. They didn't do sliding scale insulin and my mother's diabetic.

I chose The Reserve at Pasadena for my husband, because they had a memory care and it was an established place where people are happy. What I liked the best about it is the caregivers. They are caring, loving, and they take good care of the residents. They have good activities, but there's just not enough of them. The facilities are very nice, and they have very good food. It's also the closest one to me, and it's right by a hospital.

My parents have been living here for almost a year now. They have a dining room where they get three meals a day and have different events, like bingo, movie nights, and people who come in to play for them. My parents don't attend because both of them have severe dementia. The food was good, with a beautiful variety; you can get a salad and/or meat. The staff is really good. The main reason we moved them there was because of the way the facility was laid out. It's a square building with an atrium in the middle. Other places we visited were 2 stories and little bit difficult to navigate.

It was very nice. The staff was very helpful and friendly. It was very clean. I liked the fact that they had a lot of activities for the seniors like board games. They also had a patio which was a nice thing. The rooms were really nice. We saw a one-bedroom with a full bath. It was clean and bright. The place itself was very beautiful, and it smelled really nice.

Everything seemed to be above par as far as cleanliness. The grounds are wonderful and the furnishings are brand new. They really give attention to my mother and she does not have complaints. They have good meals and lots of activities. They had a 4th of July week and a cookout for the barbeque. They had entertainment and dance that night. It was very family oriented and that one was wonderful. Mom tries to participate in the activities. Mom's room is not huge but it's plenty of room for her and her things. Mom knew people in the community so that was one of the main reasons for her wanting to live there.
