In Time for Post-Holiday Search Surge: Online Reviews from Seniors and Their Families Help Identify America’s Top In-Home Care Providers

OAKLAND, CA; Dec. 12, 2019 — As families across America get together for the holidays, many will discover that an aging parent or other senior relative has increased care needs and would benefit from the companionship and services of an in-home caregiver, home health aide, in-home hospice provider, or geriatric care manager. To help them research their options, Caring.com — the nation’s leading website for senior care reviews and a highly-regarded senior care referral service — today announced its annual list of the best home care agencies, the Caring Stars of 2020.

Originally published in 2012 as the first of its kind, and expanded to include in-home care in 2017, Caring Stars has become the go-to guide highlighting service excellence at home care agencies based on consumer ratings and reviews. For 2020, there are 466 highly-rated agencies in 46 states (and Puerto Rico) providing in-home care, home health care, hospice, and/or geriatric care management services.

“We know it can be overwhelming and time-consuming to find the best senior care service providers for a loved one, particularly if the need is urgent,” said Caring.com’s CEO, Jim Rosenthal. “The testimonials in our high-integrity consumer reviews program support the search and selection process. The Caring Stars guide is one of several ways we ease the burden of family caregivers and seniors nationwide.”

To be considered for this distinguished list, Caring Stars 2020 agencies met a rigorous set of criteria, including but not limited to: having 10 or more reviews, an overall average rating of 4.5 stars or higher, and 3 or more new reviews within the qualification time frame (one of those being a 5-star review). Caring.com senior care experts also conducted a reviews-integrity audit and took other quality-assurance measures before determining the Caring Stars of 2020.

“Congratulations to these highly-rated agencies for achieving such significant praise from their customers in online reviews,” Rosenthal said. “They stand out as the best in the nation for 2020.”

The Caring Stars recognition can be earned by any licensed home care agency or senior living community with a profile in Caring.com’s nationwide directory. All qualifying consumer reviews are fully visible to anyone on the web.

Many of this year’s in-home care agency winners achieved a high volume of reviews by taking advantage of Caring.com’s partnership and reviews software integration with Home Care Pulse. The 2020 list for home care also includes 139 “Caring Super Stars” which are agencies who’ve earned the award for 2020 as well as in two prior years.

This list of recognized agencies is published each year for families at https://www.caring.com/bestseniorliving.
