My mom was at Seagate Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. The biggest issue with her when she was there was the food. I remember one day I went up there and for dinner they gave them like three pieces of ravioli. Sometimes they give them like fish patties. That's why people take food in. I don't believe in taking food in, but I took food in because of what they gave them. These people eat out of a can, like mixed vegetables out of a can. They just take them out of a can and put them on a plate. My mom was in a shared room. For people with dementia, they don't have that much activity for them. They were sitting around in the dining area.

My family member was a patient at the Seagate Rehabilitation and Nursing facility, until one day he became agitated due to a fever caused by Pneumonia (this was documented by the hospital). Instead of calling a nurse, doctor or medical staff, the supervisor of the social workers called for a police escort to walk my family member out of the building onto an awaiting ambulance and was told that he would not be permitted to return there. The lack of compassion is appalling. I shiver to think of any elderly, ill person receiving the same treatment. Please think twice before leaving any loved one at this facility.

my mother is currently a patient in this facility. We've had our moments but with this whole Corona think situation I have to say that they have been extremely helpful in taking care of the residents in this facility. I speak to my mother often and I'm happy to know that she's okay and being taken care of. At this day and age that means a lot. I want to thank the staff at Seagate for risking their lives and their families to take care of ours? God bless you all for this.

The place was very ok. It was right in the heart of Jewish Brooklyn. Everybody was just out in the lobby sitting around. It was quite unsettling seeing all the old people like that. It felt like they were waiting for these old people to just die. The lobby had a huge fish aquarium though with a large variety of fish. I enjoyed that immensely. My grandpa's room was really small though. I felt bad for him. He was also forced to eat Kosher food in cafeteria. He told me it was terrible. The staff was always nice to us. My grandpa said they were difficult but then again he is difficult as well. They seemed to have games and activities for the Seniors to do. I do not know if he did them though. I wish he was treated a little better but he did not directly pay for the care, the state did. For that, I think the senior care was pretty good.
