I visited this facility

I did a tour of Villa Court Assisted Living. Zach was the person we talked to, and he was extremely knowledgeable. They went out of their way, and they even set up an arrangement where we could visit a room. They didn't have an empty one, so they arranged it with one of the residents. I think that he went far beyond for us. I was very comfortable. I loved that it was one level, especially for assisted living, so that was a plus. All the residents that I saw seemed very happy. They had beautiful trees and flowers. Everything was very comforting. They had a movie room and a game area. Even outside, they had a gazebo with a barbecue area where they would have those activities, so that was nice. The facility is good-looking.

Villa Court Assisted Living is a nice place. All the workers here are there to help you with anything you need help with. When you move in here, you get a bathroom, a closet, and a bed. The people are very caring and very wonderful. The place is very clean. They provide three meals a day plus snacks. They have all kinds of activities. You can go on a bus and travel to different places or play bingo and scrabble onsite.

I visited this facility a couple of days ago, I was highly impressed by it. The sense of family I saw was telling. The staff was informed, friendly, and important to me was a sense of humor. I love to laugh. I met some of the kitchen staff and they were truly concerned about the meals and food they prepared. The front desk crew were attentive and upbeat. The facilities were comfortable and bright. I will be moving into the Assisted Living quarters in mid August. I was so impressed I cancelled my other visits. Thank all of you for a great visit and making me feel at home from the moment I set foot on the property.

From my tour, Villa Court Assisted Living & Memory Care was perfect for my mom. I liked how the staff made me feel welcome and how they answered my questions. You can tell that the people who were staying there were happy by their reactions. I didn't see anybody looking sad or depressed. The place was nice and very clean. I loved the layout of it. I just loved how the people were moving around, laughing, and having conversations like they were out on an outing or something. The rooms were wonderful. I looked at the semi-private room, and I was amazed. It almost appears to be private. The dining area was outstanding. It looked like they were in a restaurant.

Villa Court Assisted Living & Memory Care was less convenient for me. It's pretty far away. The director was very informative and very knowledgeable. Personally, I didn't like the memory care part. It didn't seem quite as nice for the people. It didn't have that super clean smell, unfortunately. It kind of bothered me a little bit, but maybe it was just a bad time because they were getting the residents ready to go to lunch or do something. I was not as impressed with that one as I was at the other place. The rooms seemed pretty good. The staff was very nice, very helpful, knew everything, and took me on the tour. They were very accommodating. They had a list of things they did, like games, exercises, and that type of thing for memory care. It was similar like most places. I wasn't there long enough to know about how they take care of their people. I only met the director. I didn't really meet anybody else. They were busy doing their thing. It didn't smell as clean, and it didn't look as clean.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My dad and mom have both been residents. We lost my dad about four years ago. I was blessed to be by his side when he passed. The staff were each part of that blessing. They made sure that his passing was loving, dignified and extremely gentle. There was a five day period a couple years ago that we almost lost my mom. I was allowed to stay with her for five consecutive days and will never forget my experience. I discovered that the food was hot, timely and tasty. The staff that came to take my order would share an experience with either one of my parents. They knew what my mom liked. This impressed me because I sure had no idea. The one thing that all dementia and Alzheimer's share is a change of taste. Each time they came to take my mom to the restroom (seemed like non stop) they had a smile and could not have been more gentle with her. They would randomly stop in to tell her they were thinking of her. They would hold her hand and make sure she was good. Once three of them came in with balloons and a sign they had all signed. My mom moved from Assisted Living into Memory Care about four months ago. The respectful and patient care she receives consistently leaves me grateful each time I leave her. Each time I see her she is happy, clean and relatively healthy. Memory Care staff have taken the time to help me with this chapter of her journey. Their advice has been wise and thoughtful. I appreciate it more than they will ever know. The last point I will make is that Villa Court always smells good. I have visited other establishments and (honestly) could not take the various odors. I don't know how they do this, but I know I appreciate the fact they do. I recommend Villa Court to all who have had to make the brutal decision to place someone that you love.

I visited this facility

I had an in-person tour of Villa Court Assisted Living & Memory Care. The physical appearance of the facility was nice, but it was difficult to locate the entrance. It was quite a walk from the parking lot to the entrance for visitors, about half a block. The staff was rude. They had a D rating posted on the wall from whoever it is that goes in and rates them. I was inside, and one patient was outside struggling with the door and screaming for help from the receptionist. The receptionist just kind of looked at one point and went back to her work. I got up, the receptionist got up, and I got to go towards her to help her with the door. I think that was completely inappropriate. Patients were sitting in the lobby staring off into space and were lethargic. There wasn't a lot of staff engagement with patients that I saw. I received no menu and no activities list. It was my first visit, and it was very upsetting. The facility was neat-looking and clean.

I visited this facility

Villa Court Assisted Living & Memory Care was small and quaint. It's privately owned. They're not owned by a big corporation. We were not able to see the dining room or the club room or any of that stuff. We were only able to see two rooms, but they were both the same. They only have studio apartments, and they have a mobile kitchenette. So basically, they pull a cart into your room that has a refrigerator and a microwave on it. So if you have dishes or something, then you have to wash them in the bathroom sink. I would give them a 2 because of those reasons. We didn't encounter any employees except for the tour guide giving the tour, and she was fine. She was very knowledgeable, easygoing, and easy to talk to. However, I had called the place twice to try and get more information before we visited, and she never returned my calls, so we went there with no information whatsoever other than the fact that the appointment was set up. We were not able to see any facilities or amenities. The rooms were bright and airy. It needed new carpeting. They said that the carpeting would be installed by December.

We chose Villa Court Assisted Living & Memory Care for my mother. She hasn't moved in yet; she's still in rehab. When I walked in there, it was clean, and I didn't smell anything. Everybody was really friendly. The admissions girl took me on a tour, she showed me some of the occupied rooms, and she showed me the room that my mother would get. It was really clean with new carpeting, and it was really nice. She's going to have a studio, and I think all they have are studios. They will be able to help her with her medicines, her bathing, getting her in and out of the bed, and getting her dressed. They offered her everything that we needed. They had a courtyard and a library, but I didn't see all of that because of COVID.

I visited Villa Court Assisted Living & Memory Care in Las Vegas a month ago. There was only one vacancy, and it was not ready yet. It was an apartment of a couple who passed, so they had to refurbish the whole place. It's probably ready by now. What I liked least was that I didn't get to see an exercise room. They might have had it, but I didn't get to see one. They had machines for physical fitness, though, like a NuStep and a treadmill, things like that. The place wasn't big enough to have something like a warm-water pool; I understand the bigger places have that. Other than that, it was very good. For the size, it's enough for about fifty residents. The staff was friendly, and the residents seemed to be happy with them, so perhaps they are good. Their dining room is shut down; they deliver the meals to each room. I did see the dining room, and it looked good. I've seen the kitchen, too, while the chef was preparing the meals, and it was nice.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My husband has been admitted to Villa Court. I was very impressed with the personnel. They were very friendly, very helpful, and they seemed very caring towards the residents. What we liked a lot about it was the fact that their fee was all inclusive, and the fee is locked from now until he passes, which impressed us a lot. A lot of the facilities that my son and I checked into, they started low, and by the time they added all of the other stuff like laundry, giving meds, house cleaning, or whatever they kept adding to it, by the time they did it was way over the fee that Villa Court charges. My husband right now needs help with showers, finding his bed, and needs help remembering his meds, and sometimes he needs help with walking, when he goes to the bathroom to make sure that he wipes himself clean, or is wiped clean. Memory care is the only one that they have a set price for this lock, so no matter what level of care he is our fee will stay the same. We filled out all the paperwork on Monday and when we got ready to leave, I just told my husband, it was Stephanie, the head caregiver was there, and I said, ''This lady Stephanie, she's gonna go take you to get you some lunch.'' He said, "Oh that's sounds good.'' And he went off with her with no qualms whatsoever. After I got done with the main office, I went back over and talked to Stephanie. I asked how he was doing, then she says, "We'll look and see." I looked in and he was sitting at a table. Apparently, they had set him a table to play bingo, which I know from taking care of him, he would not be able to understand how he'd do it. But he was sitting there interacting with the people at his table. And then they set food in front of him and he seemed absolutely content. I have not talked to him since then. Right now, I can't visit him because they're still on lockdown. He has a twin X that we took up there for him, and all the sheets that go with it. We took all of his stuff, all of his clothing and bedding. They moved him in, set the room up, they sent me pictures of his room, which looked like a very nice room. As far as how he's doing now, I don't know. I'm sure they will be able to keep him entertained. Villa Court is very nice. There's some construction in the front of it right now that the city is doing. But as far as Villa Court, it is very clean, very caring people, very pleasant people, and they are very helpful. I told my son, ''If I need to go in to assisted living or memory care, please take me there.'' We were very impressed with them. Everybody I talked to there was very helpful. Very well kept up facility. I met one of the maintenance guys that helped carry his stuff in. Very helpful guy. When there's anything wrong, he seems like he takes care of it right away. He was right there on top, and he stayed with us, and made sure that we got all of his stuff moved in. I was very, very impressed with the staff at Villa Court. I was only in the foyer, and some of the office was in the main building. I used their restroom, and I was in the main building. It was exceptional, very clean, they had hand sanitizers, they had soap, they used paper towels, they were very conscientious about the COVID care. I was very, very happy with what I saw. They engaged him in bingo. They have a dining room, a community area for Alzheimer's residents. Unless they insist on going to their bedrooms, they stay in this communal area where they interact, and the people keep them active and entertained. She took Bob in there, introduced him. Bob is a very quiet person that does not like crowds. Stephanie took him in there and she said, "Bob, these are all your new friends." And he was like, "All of these are my friends?" She said he was very excited about being there. It's $4,000, all-inclusive from now until he passes.

Villa Court Assisted Living & Memory Care had a lot of staff. It was tidy and they seemed pretty organized. My father-in-law had a quarantine room for the first two weeks, and he had a roommate. It's in a separate part of the facility, and I can't really say what his permanent room is like for him. Everybody so far has been great. Communication is good. You can always get a hold of somebody in a relatively timely manner, and they're responsive. They were doing indoor bowling when we moved him in. They usually have a bus where they take a field trip once a week, but they can't do that right now. They have a library on one corner of the wing, a theater room, and an outdoor courtyard. I like that the memory care facility is in a separate building than assisted living, so the staff that's assigned to memory care only takes care of the memory care people.

My ex-husband was pretty happy at Villa Court Assisted Living. He liked it, but my daughter and I weren't too happy with it. We had a lot of trouble finding somebody to take care of his colostomy. The assisted living is more suited to people who can take care of themselves, but he needed a lot of help. He was receiving the highest level of care that they could give, but it wasn't enough. He was sharing a room, which didn't work because it was small, and we had to move him to a single room, which cost more. He took part in some of the activities, and he said the food was pretty good. The facility was nice, but a lot of the things that they told us were going to happen before we put him in there didn't happen. He would ring his light for some help to go to the bathroom, and he would have to call me at home to tell me that there was nobody answering his light and that he was going to wet himself. They were supposed to do his laundry and everybody's laundry was supposed to be separate, but he lost half of his clothes and his towels. There were other people's clothes mixed in with his clothes.

It was the best one we visited. I had a great experience. The manager there was very friendly and gave me a lot of detail. It is a small community where he could get enough personal help if necessary.

There were various things that I really liked about it. It was all single story, and their rooms had vaulted ceilings which made the rooms look very big even though they were standard size. I also enjoyed the fact that it was on a regular residential street, so I felt that it gave a more home feeling to the establishment as opposed to something being on a major street. The staff was very polite and informative. They had a memory care center that was adjacent and part of the facility. It’s old, but they have amenities that nobody else did have.

We put my mother-in-law in this community. They have multiple varieties of food, and food main selections every day. The rooms are very roomy -- which is what we're surprised about -- and they have multiple rooms. They were spacious, very nice, and maintained very well. We have a med tech that takes care of the medication for them, and they do really well and they give it to her at a correct time. If they can't find her, they locate her within the facility if she's not in her room, so they're very efficient. They have a lot of activities, but it's not something she's interested in.

It’s a good community with good caring people. We have good experiences. My mother-in-law seems to be happy and content. The unfortunate thing is that it is so far from us, but everything else is fine. They treat her well. Every time we go in to see her, they seem to be very attentive. The food is good. My mother-in-law seems to eat everything. The room is nice. She is in a joint room with another roommate. They play board games, they take them on field trips every Wednesday, they have bingo nights, they have card nights, they do a lot of morning exercises, and they take them for a walk out on the patio.

Everybody treated me fine. The facility was nice and very clean, but small. They had different activities, and they had a nice dining room. They had trips and transportation. The rooms were OK. One of them had a microwave in it, but they didn't have a coffee pot. Basically, you had to go down to the public area to the dining room if you wanted anything, and that I didn't care for; neither did my uncle. They had outside areas where you could go and sit down, but they were small.

We did visit, and we thought they were very friendly. I thought it was wonderful because it is all in one story and no stairs. All we did was walk around and look at the amenities. They have a gathering room like a big TV room or a lunch room. People could go in and use the facility if they needed to. Some of the rooms have microwaves, and it was a nice place. We liked it. The fact that they would control her medications and they are 24/7 if she needed anyone impressed us. That is something important to us.

At this community, the people were pretty good. They were always talking to my grandma and giving her medicine. However, she never liked the food there. The surroundings were pretty good. My grandma was in a two-person in one room, but it was pretty private. It was also pretty nice and clean. The nurse would always go there and ask what's going on -- not just when they needed it. My grandma was pretty happy there except for the food. Regarding activities, on weekdays, they would take the people for singing and dancing. Activities there were nice. I would say that it was really a nice place.

I liked it for my mom because they had a memory care facility built for people with her condition, and it was a small facility. I also liked that they gave personal attention, and they did not let the residents sit in their rooms if they had planned daily activities for them. I got to see the way the technicians handled the residents and got to meet some of them. I had two staff go to my house to meet my mom, and they evaluated her. They were caring, loving, and had a warm and genuine manner. They seemed to know exactly how to deal with people who had this disease, and that really won me over. The place did not look clinical but more like a home. The residents were allowed to put their own personal photos in their rooms. It was a locked facility, and if they tried to get out, the staff were alerted. There was a beautiful patio in the middle, so the residents could not get out into the street. The rooms were clean and spacious. My mom had to be in a shared room with two others. But she had her own area where I could put her bed, chest, and night stand. The residents were dressed; nobody was in pajamas. There were some who participated in the activities, and some who did not. But they did not force them to do all kinds of things. They just gradually integrated them into the activities, especially when they were new to the place. When I was there, I saw them doing group activiites. I knew they took the residents on excursions, where they actually left the premises and went to different venues in the city. They also had dogs for the residents, which they could feed.

My mom is now here. I like this one because it is close to my house. Pretty much all memory care is about the same but this place is more reasonable than the other facility we looked at. They have activities there. All the time they were doing something. They would take them out of the facility once a week to go eat lunch somewhere. They also have people come in and do their hair once a week. My mom doesn't participate in some of their activities because she doesn't want to. I don't think there's anything that they could improve on because it is always the same wherever my mom went. My mom is doing the same thing there that she was doing when she was in her own home. It would be the same kind of sadness in a place because every time you go there, she doesn't get any better. I don't think she is happier anywhere. She is always trying to leave, but it is good that this place is gated. You have to have a code to get out. Overall though, I believe they're doing a good job.

The staff is really friendly. All of the residents are happy. They have a really great activity schedule, it's diverse and it felt like they would be very engaging on a daily basis. The rooms are very lovely. They're probably one of the best that we saw. It had a home feeling. They had a nice area with a fish tank. The only reason why we didn't end up going with it had more to do with the location. It was a little bit further away than we wanted. The grounds were not quite as attractive. It's mostly country outside with a couple of desert landscaping type areas. But it wasn't as green and pretty as some of the other places. But it was still very lovely.
