I went to The Windsor of Gainesville. The biggest thing was the guests themselves. The Windsor's residents were very friendly. I wanted to see what the guests looked like and how they were reacting. Every guest that we saw was happy. They were smiling. They were enjoying themselves. So it was more of a family atmosphere than other places that we looked at. The apartment has a full fridge, microwave, and bathroom. It's a real apartment. The living room is separate from the bedroom.

The Windsor of Gainesville is a beautiful, very upscale, very lovely facility. It's high-end. I think they have up to 99 residents. The staff members were great. They were very helpful and nice and gave me all the information I asked for. They had all kinds of things. They had a theater. The dining room was very lovely. It was very nice. They have lots of activities. They have a library. They have crafts and entertainment. They have a theater where you can go watch a movie every day. It's fancy and beautiful and it's like living in a hotel.

I'm probably going to go with The Windsor of Gainesville for my mother. I walked in there and it looked like a five-star hotel. I hope my mom will be very happy there. I'm delighted to have found that place. I saw the dining area, the theater room, and the hairdressing room. The staff who gave me the tour was very personable, knowledgeable, friendly, delightful, hardworking, and very informative. I felt all my questions were answered. She gave me a cupcake when I left and it was delicious. This place looked pristine, and they had an incredible menu selection and great activities, which I hope my mom will do. They had a center courtyard that was pleasant. The apartment had a little kitchenette area and I will supply all the furniture and everything, but it's a nice living space for her. They would provide 3 meals a day and I think there were snacks around. I found out that I could dine with her for a small fee, which is cheaper than going to a restaurant.

I looked at The Windsor of Gainesville. It was very good. The people there were good. I think my mom-in-law could fit in there very well. They have semi-private rooms. They do have private rooms, but you had to get on a waiting list, so we just prefer the other facility because they're all private rooms. I toured both assisted living and memory care. The semi-private rooms are smaller, but the place was clean and nice. The thing that stuck out about The Windsor of Gainesville, which was good is that memory care is limited to 24 people. When I was in there and it was like 2:00 in the afternoon, they talked about how they try to keep them engaged. I counted 18 people that they had out either engaged with each other or a caregiver engaging with them, so it was good to see that they did what they say they do. They keep them engaged because the majority of people were out, and they were active and doing things, and that's inside memory care. That was very impressive. The facility is a pretty good size. They have other areas with activities. They had a small movie theater where they were giving a presentation. There were a few people in there. They offer a lot. The big thing is with the people who need memory care, they probably don't want to participate in things, but they had them out participating in crafts and discussions and things, so it was good.

The tour at The Windsor of Gainesville was professional. The staff gave us a grand tour, and we were impressed compared to the other three that we visited. The staff was very professional and personal. You get your own bed. They have a closet for clothes and cable TV hookups, but you must bring your own TV and telephone. They do the laundry. They have a courtyard and a physical therapy room with stationary bikes and such.

Out of the four facilities I visited this was definitely our top choice. The tour and application process was great. Not able to rate the care or food or activities at this time, but I will update.

I had a very good experience at The Windsor of Gainesville. The facility was very shiny and new and there was a lot of high-end services. The staff was very attentive and very informative. They had a large multimedia room, multiple activity rooms, and spa-type rooms. It's a good location.

The Windsor Of Gainesville is a beautiful community. The staff was really, really nice, too. I looked at their food list and it was very, very good. The facility is totally beautiful and very clean. They had a theater and a huge activity room. They literally had a room where they had stored all the activities and stuff. They probably have the biggest activity room I have seen, and with so many supplies in it. Then they also had a whole sitting area with tables and everything for the residents to do their activities.

We went to The Windsor of Gainesville, but the whole situation was ridiculous. We had an appointment, and there was another person at the same appointment. The presentation of the staff who made the appointment wasn't in order. We were not allowed in the building. They dragged chairs out on the front porch. They had all sorts of boxes and materials and delivery stuff in the lobby, so you couldn't even get in to see. The confusion of the tour was a big negative, and the other thing was when we talked about the care it was not all-inclusive. Everything was an add-on, e.g., if you get so many showers a week, if you want to add a shampoo to that, or if you want snacks. It wasn't a total care price, and it was expensive. We were not impressed at all. It looked acceptable, but it was like a hotel with lobby, and not welcoming. There were lots of tile and lots of concrete. They were not organized, and they were not warm. I suggest they organize and prepare better for visitors, have a plan in mind when someone makes an appointment, and reconsider their add-on cost.

My mother stayed at The Windsor of Gainesville during the month of December 2018, and I was very positively impressed by the management and staff of The Windsor, for Assisted Living. They went the extra mile to get to know Mom and take care of her unique needs. The LPNS really engaged with Mom. They were very supportive and patient with her careful, slow eating, for instance. Once when she started moving to the music they had put on for her, they wheeled her around the facility, dancing away. There were always nurses on site, they had dedicated physical therapists, and a regular visiting doctor, all of whom were excellent. We found the food to be perfect for Mom---it was cooked simply without too much oil, so she could digest it; yet it looked appealing and was delicious. Mom's health deteriorated, and she needed the higher level of care that only a nursing home can provide, so we had to move her. I definitely recommend The Windsor for those who need a high level of assistance, short of 24/7 nursing care. The place is attractive and cheering. I went to one of their Friday afternoon music performance and party, which was really nice. The games in the common area were well-organized and led.

The Windsor of Gainesville's staff seemed to be attentive. They keep my mom's room clean and to me it's comfortable. They have plenty of opportunities for engaging in activities. They have a library, a massage room, an area to play cards in, and sitting areas. My mom is in their assisted living portion. The fact that it's all in one building and not a complex of multiple buildings is an advantage.

The Windsor of Gainesville is beautiful, clean and looks safe. The only problem is they told me that if my husband hurts anybody, they'll throw him out, and since my husband has Lewy body, that's probably going to happen. A nice woman walked me around and talked to me, and from what I saw, the staff was attentive to the patients.
