I liked the location. They were way up high on a hill, and the view was beautiful. They had a great front porch. They were surrounded by lots of open lands, so they did have bunnies and deer and all sorts of great things to look at. The staff who assisted me during the tour was very accommodating. They had lots of good training for the staff. They had staff members that had been there for 20-plus years. They had a library and different areas for socialization. You could have a large group or you could have a small group. The whole facility was very clean.

I toured here. Everybody was very friendly. They did outings for the residents. They had a beauty shop onsite. They had a huge dining area. It was very nice, and the food was fabulous. They had different little areas throughout the facility that were like little alcoves. They had a library with a fireplace, so you could go there and read. They had a main room off the entrance that the staff said that they had church in on Sundays. They had a piano, and she said people come in there and do puzzles and stuff. They had different little areas throughout the facility where people could go and sit and relax or visit with people. They had different atriums that were really nice where the residents could go outside and sit. Then they also had a community garden, which I thought was kind of fun.

The reason I chose Dewitt Place Assisted Living Community for my mom is that there were a lot of different opportunities and there's a very vast variety of activities. There was sewing, there was reading, and there were arts and crafts. The menu was well done. I met the chef and talked to the chef. The people in the administration were very helpful and very informative. There are protocols in place where you have to wear a mask, you also have to have your fever tested, and they ask you a few questions about it. So there were protocols in place for that as well.

My mom is here. It is wonderful. We are very happy with it. She has a small room. They do have large ones, but our doctor recommends the small one. It is adequate for her. We eat there, and the food is very good. The dining room set-up is really nice. I will recommend it to others.
