I visited this facility

We visited Waterman Convalescent Hospital. The staff was very nice and very friendly. The place was OK. It was clean. The residents seemed happy.

I visited this facility

Waterman Nursing put three people in one room that’s designed for two -- three beds in one room designed for two. The administrator there is extremely rude. When my wife’s glucose was consistently under 500, I called their attention, and when I went to her office, she started yelling and screaming at me. I told her why are you yelling and screaming at me, she said I do that to my children, and I said but I am not your child. They’re very inept, and there’s really no doctor there. There’s a doctor that they called, but the doctor will only see the patient once a month. The food was horrible.

I am a friend or relative of resident

Our mother spent 7 months there. The staff was so caring that they soon became a extention of our family. We all showed up at various times and never found her in a neglected condition. She actually was fearful of being transferred to a closer facility. They provided so much love and support to our big family all thru the process of her shutting down. Several staff members even attended her memorial service.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

We got off to a bad start at Waterman. I actually filed a complaint because my sister is totally helpless; she can't speak or move. We had our housekeeper visit her once in a while, and then when we all visited, it seemed we were doing all of her care. We were turning her while we were there, of course, and doing other things, but she hadn't had a bath for 10 days, and she got two new wounds in addition to what she had when she came in. Everything's better now, though. We had a meeting with ICC -- the one that handles the money for the convalescent hospitals -- and the social worker. We sat down and talked about the problems. Since then, they have improved 100 percent. I do not have any complaints, but it was a rough 10 days. The facility looks pretty good. They are constantly repairing things and paint like what seems like once every two weeks; there is always something being painted. Outside, they have a really nice patio area. They have a doctor for only wound care that shows up once a week, and they have a wound nurse who is very good.

I visit my father here regularly. The staff is always nice to me and treat my dad well. He is over 90 and in a wheelchair and has dementia, but he seems happy here. I like the outside area with the courtyard. Yes, most nursing homes are depressing and this is no exception, but I feel they are giving my father decent care and are friendly.

My Dad was taken here and when he left he was half dead. He had a severe UTI and was disoriented and dehydrated. I am calling the Ombudsmen to report this facility. Also his clothes were stolen and it smelled like marijuana walking up to the place. Terrible

I visited this facility

This is a skilled nursing faciltity located on Waterman Avenue. This facility has ample parking in the back. When you enter there is a person at a small guard shack to direct you as needed. This facility appeared clean and has attentive staff. They also accomadate hospice patients. The Social Worker is very knowledgable and helpful. The director of nursing is also knowledgable too and will assist family members with any questions regarding the care of their loved one. I visited one patient who was clean and well fed. This facility is own by a family of professionals who own other nursing homes in the inland empire.

I visited this facility

The hospital grounds are pretty, but the building is old. The front portion of the hospital is clean, but as you get to the area in back of the building it isn't so clean. It's shabby and I detected moderate smells even though this is a skilled nursing facility with over 165 beds. The food that I saw was typical for a hospital, but I didn't see anything fresh on the menu. There's a hospital close by, but the neighborhood doesn't look very good. The patients I saw sitting in wheelchairs in the hallways looked clean, but I did detect odors.
