Bethany Buchanan,
Bethany Grace Buchanan RN, BSN, BSW owns and operates an nine bed Memory Care Home for Seniors with Alzheimer's and other forms of Dementia. She works closely with her staff, families and healthcare professionals to improve and optimize care for seniors with various forms of dementia living in her home. She has more than 20 years of experience working in healthcare including 8 years a hospital staff nurse.
She received her degrees in Nursing from Excelsior College in Albany New York and her degree in Social Work from Augsburg College in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Bethany also provides consulting services nationwide to help others set up Residential Assisted Living Homes for seniors.
Why I Care
"I see family members of the residents I care for stop visiting them or have short, stressful visits with their loved ones who suffer from dementia. Sometimes I find them crying outside their family member's door. I want to help educate family members to accept and embrace their loved ones dementia, and enjoy reminiscing and other simple pleasures with them."
