beatbreastcancer
Caring for my mom Member since September 18, 200949; female; diagnosed with stage 2 invastive ductal carcinoma in 2007 (age 45); chemo, surgeries, radiation, now cancer-free; married w/2 children 9 and 11; mother is 83, diagnosed Alzheimer's 2 years ago. Helping 3 brothers, 1 sister care for her; have just moved her to a nursing home from her apartment. New, stronger pain meds make it impossible for her to live without 24/7 care now. Worried about eldest who is her power of attorney-he's really stressed and is having his own health problems and too much to do w/Mom, home and family (stay-at-home dad). Trying to keep up with latest news. Definitely keeping sense of humor; it helped me through cancer and is helping now. Keep on laughing!
