We toured Timber Hills. The place was immaculate and well kept. They had plenty of space but it was easy to navigate. The services that they offered were pretty comprehensive. The rent seemed fairly reasonable. The staff were very helpful and very forthcoming.

We liked Timber Hills because it was clean and modern looking. They had a washer and dryer in the room. There's a place where we could eat with other people if we wanted or we could eat in our own room. The staff was very friendly and helpful showing us around the different hobbies that they have and places that they go during the month. They put puzzles together, they have some exercise, and they also have inside parking. It was very clean and they had just remodeled, so it was very nice.

My mother moved into Timber Hills last week. It's very friendly and cooperates with my request. Her apartment is bright, brightly decorated, spacious, it's a one- bedroom. Big windows. Comfortable temperature, you control your own temperature. We got a new carpet, new painting when we moved in, so that made it nice. I saw that they have a chapel. So church service is on Sunday. There's one lady who plays piano. I think she just volunteers, I think she lives there, so every once in a while, I hear her playing the piano. The other day, they had somebody from outside, it was a younger guy, maybe junior high. I let him in and I saw that he was supposed to be playing the piano. I see him playing games like bingo and Jeopardy. So I see a lot of things going on, a lot of activities. One day they were taking a bus to some restaurant outside. Upkeep and maintenance were really good. The care that we get and the amenities are worth the price.

My mom lives in Timber Hills. They have different doors. So 6307 is the main entrance, the 6309 entrance is for the independent living side apartment. It's a big place, it's a very large community. They have one whole building full of apartments that are independent and then it all connects. They all have the same amenities, which is nice. And then they have the assisted living side. My mom lives on the side that's called the terrace. Then they have the Commons, which is assisted living. Then they have also, which was nice that I liked, 55 and up. They have townhomes that are part of this community. Right down the street, is a whole development. Part of this whole unit is townhomes, so people can move into a townhome, downsize from their homes, be part of this community and then transition to their needs as their needs change into the apartments as my mom did. My mom moved here. She started in the townhome with my dad. My dad passed away. She transitioned within three months. They had an independent apartment for her because you go to the top of the list, previous residents take precedence. So nice. This is a beautiful community. It's all wooded, overlooks a pond. She overlooks a pond and a wooded area full of deer. It's a great location. Every single person is available just like that. They're right on whether it's maintenance, what starts at the top flows down for the level and the integrity and everything. I mean, it doesn't matter if you're a receptionist, maintenance, a mailman. The level here is just exceptional. Everyone is wonderful. They have a deli and they also have a dining room with good breakfast and cinnamon rolls. It's beautiful, it looks like a big log home. They have amazing activities, and the value is really good, the apartments are large. They all have their own laundry room and big kitchen. My mom has a 2-bedroom, 2-bath, with her own laundry room and big kitchen.

I went to Presbyterian Homes- Timber Hills, and I saw their memory care and the general campus. Megan was fabulous and outstanding. They were great, and I think the facilities are a little bit better than adequate. The main area is a little dark. It's done in heavy, dark wood because we're in Minnesota, and they are kind of going for that "northern cabin" look. I only saw one room in memory care, and it was big for my father. It was a two-bedroom with two baths. The problem we had with it was it faced the west, so it had the west sun shining in, and they just had flimsy blinds. We all know how that is during the summertime -- it gets hot. As far as the building's cleanliness, it looked clean. Did they have the hand-washing-and-sanitizing area that I saw at other facilities? They did, but it was not as stringent. There were also outside areas where you could take somebody out for a walk, but he didn't have access to a garden area. It was just a door in and out to the hallways.

Everything about Timber Hills was very nice. Their rooms were very nice, they have different rooms, and some are larger than others. We have seen both the two-bedroom and one-bedroom. We looked at all of their facilities from independent to assisted living to memory care. The staff member who gave us the tour was very nice. The dining area was very nice, even though we didn' have food or anything, it's comfortable. It's not what you call large, but it has a nice size to it and accommodates the people that are there, so it works very well. There was a list of activities that they have based on individual interest, so they have many activities. The surroundings or atmosphere is very nice.

Timber Hills was a very nice, very nicely furnished, and kept-up facility, but it was too large for my comfort level and too costly. They probably offered more activities, outings, and transportation, but I didn’t have the same feeling there as I did in other places, so I went with my gut.

Timber Hills has superior customer service skills, and the home health aides that I’ve met were incredibly friendly and helpful. They knew my parents’ first names right away, and they developed some connections in people that my parents know mutually, so that was very important to them. The facility was clean, and there were issues in the move in, but that was taken care of within a couple of hours. I think it is a very good place for them. They have an apartment there. They have a Bingo nights, church service, and a doctor on site.

Timber Hills was a very nice place. It was very close and convenient, they just didn’t have any opening. I had a couple of friends out there on the waiting list right now. The rooms were fine, but again they didn’t have a lot of rooms with washer and dryer in independent living. You had to go laundry area. Everything about the place was really good. They had a big open house there, and we were invited. They had a car show there and other things to look at.

Front desk is helpful, nurses are friendly. Rooms are in good repair. Common areas are kept clean. The food in the dining room is ok, but maybe a bit overpriced for the quality. I would recommend the buffet style Sunday brunch over the made to order meals during the rest of the week.

The staff was very respectful to the residents and seemed genuinely happy to be working in the establishment. The residents appeared to be having a good time. People seemed to be kept busy with activities such as BINGO and knitting groups. In the common areas, there were puzzles and games left out for the residents to use. The place was very clean and sanitary. The staff gave us a quick tour of the rooms and dining area. Nothing stood out as negative, but the home was too far away. We wanted to be a little closer to my grandmother in case of an emergency. She seemed to like the home, the staff was very friendly towards her, and there were plenty of opportunities for her to get involved in the community. If the place had been a little closer to home, we would have definitely chosen the home!
