We ended up choosing TerraBella Sugarloaf for my father. So far, we are very happy. The staff is very friendly and very caring. They are attentive. The cleanliness of the entire complex and the food are fantastic. Everything, so far, has gone very well. The staff interacts with everyone. Even if it's just like walking by, they are giving them a hug or a kiss on top of the head. Everything is super clean and up-to-date. So far, we've played bingo. We've done trivia, we've been to the movie theater, and we've gone to live music. They've been served wine during the music, so that was nice.

I don’t know who I need to talk to but I come into TerraBella a lot to visit my uncle and there is never a time that I’m not greeted and welcomed by Kim at the front desk. That women is the sweetest employee That TerraBella has. SHE NEEDS TO BE A MANAGER ASAP. She knows the whole community and the residents love her so much. I pray she gets a higher position because she deserves it. She always has a smile, always there to answer questions and if she doesn’t know the answer she gets the answer. She is such a beautiful person and my family and I know a lot of other families loves her. If you are ever looking for a place to live and to be greeted with love go to TerraBella Sugarloaf and see Kim at the desk SHE IS AWESOME..

I have been a resident for little over a year and I have not regretted my decision to move here one time. Kevin is a great director who cares about ea individual. his door is always open. As you see from the pictures Lori and her team provide a wide variety of activities that includes everyone. Your choice which u want to attend or not. It feels like the dysfunctional family we have all known kudos to all the staff that makes living here a plesure

I had an in-person tour of Discovery Village At Sugarloaf. It was very nice, and the people were nice. I don't have any problem with it. I was looking at a cottage. You can pay extra and get meals, but it's not normally included with the general rent. They have a pool, an exercise room, and a dog walk place. It's beautiful. The room was small. The cottage was small, and there were not a lot of closets. They did have a garage for the cottages.

We're in Discovery Village At Sugarloaf. It offers cottages for independent living, and it offers assisted living. We need to move into assisted living because my wife has issues that make it impossible to live in independent living anymore. We have a cottage; they have about six-to-eight cottages that are truly independent. The cottage we had was about 1800 square feet. It had one bedroom, it was very nice, and they kept it nice and clean. The staff was excellent. We have nothing but good impressions of the food. The food is well balanced, the servings were smaller than we're used to, but we can get as many servings as we want, and it was difficult to choose for a special diet. I have to be on a low-carb diet, and sometimes I had trouble finding a combination that was low carb and still attractive. I think they can improve in that respect. The food is of a good variety, it's very good quality, and it's generally quite good. During this virus thing, we can't have guests, but when we first came here, we were able to have guests come in and have meals with us, which was very nice. The cost has gone up dramatically for us.

We chose Discovery Village at Sugarloaf because of the price, the location, the friendliness, and the acceptance of pets. Yes, they accept pets. The rooms are pretty decent, other than an air circulation problem. They said they'll put the ceiling fans in, but they have not done that. My parents are in a one-bedroom, and it's really nice. They're on the bottom floor, so the location is good. They have a balcony and can go outside. The food is fine; neither one of my parents are complaining about it. My mom went the other day to the Botanical Gardens in Atlanta. They take them out and have activities all throughout the day for them to do. My mother is very happy in there, which is shocking, because I thought she's the one that would be against it, but it's made her happy, so it's really working well for us.

This was a letter I sent to the executive director. NEVER RECEIVED A REPLY! RUN, RUN, RUN from this place.... THEY JUST DON'T CARE! Dear Steven, When I called your facility on July 26th to talk to my mom, I could hear my Dad screaming in the background. Immediately, I could tell he was in pain or something was very wrong. I asked the nurse/Tech to call an ambulance and call me back. Five minutes later, I called back and Courtney told me they would not be calling anyone since they took his vitals that morning and they were fine. At this point, I advised them I was coming to get him to take him to the ER myself. Dad was so weak my husband and I could not get him in the car and had to call an ambulance from the parking lot. Courtney came out while I was on the phone with 911 and kept asking me to understand that since my Dad could not explain to them what was wrong and his vitals were okay earlier that morning, she could not call an ambulance. By this point, I finally told her I did not understand why she wouldn't call an ambulance if a resident was incoherent and there was obviously something wrong. My husband told her to go back inside since we were having to do what should have been done 30 minutes before. By the time the ambulance arrived, they could not get a blood pressure on my Dad. My Dad would have died if I had left his care up to Courtney. As a former nurse, I am shocked at the lack of care and compassion shown to my Dad that day. After getting him to Northside, my sister picked my mom up. Obviously, if this is the care my Dad has received, we will not leave my mom. I came to pick up my parent's things which were dumped into boxes and put in the garage. There were broken items, dirty clothes dumped onto clean ones. I have unboxed them all and cannot find my mom's shoes. Still, shoes can be replaced. My parents cannot. Picking up their medications, I discovered my mom had been off of the patch of her dementia medication for 7 days which you should never quit cold turkey! I was told the pharmacy did not deliver it. hmmm...We were able to get it filled within 3 hours. I wasn't called and told they were having a hard time getting it. Instead, the techs just charted that she wasn't given it. I understand you are proud of your shine memory care system but the care your techs gave him was unacceptable, Especially Courtney. How do you justify coming out and arguing with the family while they are on a 911 call?

Discovery Village At Sugarloaf is very nice. They have a cottage that has a garage. It is open and near the parking lot, which isn't busy. The staff members were very nice and very accommodating. The dining area was very nice. They have activities. They have bingo and cards, and they have a swimming pool and hair salon. They have everything.

My mother loved Discovery Village At Sugarloaf. The residents were walking around, eating dinner, they stopped and spoke to my mom, and the staff member introduced her to pretty much everybody that they saw. The staff member was nice, concerned, and caring. They gave us a really cute room with a kitchen, living room, bedroom, bath, and outside porch, but it was a good distance to where she would have to go and eat, and we were concerned that she wouldn't be able to do it, so we moved her to a room that's right in the middle where there's people all the time, and so far, she likes it. I'm really happy about it. They have an exercise class, there's bible study every day, they play bingo, and meals from 7:00 to 7:00, and you can get pretty much whatever you want. There's a standard menu and they have a special every night. They have arts class, daily movies, and get-togethers. The food and the activities are really good.

I'm currently staying at Discovery Village at Sugarloaf, and I think that it's declining. I have a one-bedroom unit with a kitchenette. They offer many things for the residents including a swimming pool, games, library, physical therapy, movies, and so on. They provide meals but I am on a special diet, so I'm cooking for myself. The staff is very friendly and nice, they try to be helpful. But when it comes to house cleaning and fixing things, they're not the best. In terms of maintenance, the building is getting to be old and the age is starting to show. I have problems with the air conditioning, the stove and outlets, and the cleanliness definitely needs some improvement. It's expensive, and I don't see the value for the money. A lot of people feels the same way and are looking for another place right now.

My experience with Discovery Village at Sugarloaf is very positive. It has been very good. The staff is excellent. When you have a need, they are very supportive. I don't have a lot of needs, but they have always been there when I needed them. It has activities and is well maintained. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful. There is a wide range of residents with physical and mental abilities. From my point of view, their food would get a high rating because not only do you have what's called the special, which is the standard, but you can order items off of a menu, so you have some choices. When I first came here, I definitely needed to be in assisted living because when I came in from the hospital, I was in a wheelchair, so I needed lots of assistance. But in those seven months, I have gained a lot of strength, so now, I'm able to take care of myself. The room is designed where you have a living area with a kitchen, and the bedroom is somewhat separate, so it feels more like an apartment.

Discovery Village at Sugarloaf looked like a very nice community. They have evidently recently enlarged it, and they have a number of vacancies. It was located in a predominantly commercial area than it was in a residential area, and the community had a garden area in the center. They had the living facilities around a grassy center garden area. They had new 2-bedroom apartments that they recently built, and they also had cottages. The facility was very nice, and I would recommend it.

We went to Discovery Village. It was out of our league. It was just more than what we wanted. It was very social. The apartments and all were very nice. The staff was very nice. I know one of the ladies that was there, and that helped. They had all been very cordial and helpful. They even invited us for lunch. It was a very nice place.

The amenities at Discovery Village at Sugarloaf were really good. In fact, it was like a five-star resort. They had an in-house theater and a pool. It seemed like all of the residents were good friends. I would have loved to put my dad there, but it was too expensive for our budget. It was really nice. The dining room was very large with tables of four and six, but there was also a bistro area where you could get snacks and sandwiches throughout the day. There were private apartments for independent living. The rooms were clean. They have 24-hour registered nurses on duty.

Discovery Village at Sugarloaf is very nice with a very friendly atmosphere. My parents' room is 720 sq. ft; it has a living room, two bedrooms, and a bathroom. I have eaten there, and it is good food. They have all kinds of stuff; there is something going on all the time. They go to Walmart, and they have bingo, entertainment, church services -- everything. The dining area is very clean, and had a wide variety of food choices. They are very attentive.

My mother-in-law and father-in-law lived in Noble Village. It was a lot similar to the other facility -- e.g. very luxurious appointments. They also have a theater and a beauty parlor on site. The facility was very well appointed and state-of-the-art in terms of it being a home. It was much more like an apartment than anything else. My in-laws had a double apartment. They allowed them to put a door in between two adjoining apartment units so that they had like a two-bedroom with a kitchenette. It was very well appointed.

One of the reasons why we picked Noble Village is because it's big and spacious. It's suited for large and extended families if they visit together. Since my parents moved in, we've been most impressed with the staff and as to how much they care for them. The staff is people oriented and loving. They are plenty of activities available for the residents. I was very impressed with all the things they could do.

Provider Response

Thank you for excellent review and noticing our continued dedication to provide a world-class, friendly senior-living community. It is an absolute pleasure having your parents live with us.

Noble Village was just bought by a large company that is going to expand it. It is close by and some of their services are good or better than anything I looked at in the area. Right now, I can say it is one of the few best that I saw. The activities are fantastic and the food was great.

Noble Village at Sugarloaf's room was nice, but it was really not large enough for us. We built a house 13 years ago, and it is 5000 square feet. We knew we would have to condition ourselves to moving into something like that. It is going to be difficult to find something that is comparable to what we are living in now. Overall, their rooms were OK. Also, we didn't want just an independent living; we want something that has assisted with it. The facility was clean but it was very plain. The lady who worked with us was nice.

I liked Noble Village because it had individual cottages with its own garage. If you were in independent living that would come in handy and if you need assisted living, you could go across the street into the building. The apartments were nice but small with a very small kitchen facility. You could probably get a couch, a chair and a twin bed in there. They had showers with handicap setup. The assisted living did not have a stove and oven but the independent living did.The staff was kind of busy and the girl who took me around wasn't in charge but an assistant at the desk. They could have been more friendly but they weren't.
