Is anyone cutting Namenda 10mg in half and taking twice a day, or taking Namenda 10 mg once a day? Side effect of 10mg twice a day meant a 5 lb weight gain in two weeks. Not tolerable. What does anyone think of splitting pills?

Question: Cutting Namenda pills in half and taking them twice a day to avoid weight gain. Response: Make sure you speak with the treating physician before cutting your medication dose in half. Cutting the medication dose by 50% could affect the effectiveness of the medication as well.

I occasionaly cut one in half, if my stomach feels sore, bothered, whatever, and then take it an hour later and it seems to work. I normally take 2 per day. One in the morning, and one in the evening. I also take Metformin (500mg) one in morning and one at bedtime. Still seems to bother for a while and then seem to go away.
