My husband did need skilled nursing, but the main reason for his stay there was for physical therapy. When I went to see the place, I was shown the luxurious lower floors, the gym, and lobby. I expressed our main concern being the physical thetapy daily to prevent contracture. We were supposed to be there for 15 days . After day 2 complications bagan. He was on the 7th gloor qhere there is no air conditioning in the rooms. Doors have to remain open so AC from hallway and fans placed in the rooms circulate the air. My husband developed pressure wounds stage 4 due to the excessive heat, wrong bed, lack of hygiene etc. Then he contracted pneumonia as result of fans blowing directly at him, contracted Covid, his health condition deterirated on a daily basis...long story short...had to be put on respirator, needed IV and an outside agency had to becalledbc no one could find his vein...I had to insist that his peg tubd be changed as it was black bc after his feedings they never fed wayer to wash it out. He?stayed for 2 months. I took him Home on Hospice to spen Christmas at ho.e and he passed 10 days after

We found Victoria Nursing & Rehabilitation Center for my grandparents. It's pretty good. From the ones that we found, this is the one that we liked the most, it's the one that had the best facilities to combine both of their needs. They're pretty good, pretty decent. The staff is relatively good, everybody can pick up the phone and call you when they need to. The food is good enough. They have a salon, a gym, they have everything. They moved there two months ago.

Do not use this facility it’s true they do not answer the phone or they answer the phone lay down on the desk not realizing that you can hear them speak. Too many different ethnic groups as employees so communication is very difficult And there should be no reason why your loved one should fall while being in this facility but yet it happens

I would like to start by saying do not take your loved one here . My mom went into this facility for rehabilitation . She was supposed to be here for 7 days than 7 days turned to 14. They never communicated with they family . Unless we called no one would call us. The doctor never called , of the therapist . Every time we called to speak to a dr or a therapist they gave us the run around and never transferred us. My mother has dementia so we asked them for an exception for my father to visit her . That never happened. Than 14 days turned to 21 days they told us my mother developed shingles and she was contagious therefore isolated. 3 days after my mother came home , according to her medical records she had no shingles and she was never treated because the diagnosis didn’t exist . My mother had a broken tooth from a fall they never reported . My mother is diabetic if she had fallen and broken a tooth someone should have called. She also developed a severe third degree rash in her private area all the way down to her legs from her diaper not being changed. Supposedly my mother was in rehabilitation for 21 days but when she arrived at home she was afraid to walk and unless she held on to you she would fall To the side . However when we would call Victoria we were told my mother would walk on her own ... This is abuse of elderly and I do not recommend this place to anyone . The only plus side is she had a private room with a bathroom . Staff communication is terrible . They lied about everything . They lied about bathing her correctly , they lied about her therapy .

My aunt was living in Victoria Nursing Home after a series of strokes left her unable to care for herself. I bought her some Christmas gifts last year which I presented to her at the annual Christmas party for the residents. I was appalled to find them missing within days. I spoke to the administrators and called the police to file a report. We met in my aunts hospital room with two police officers, the hospital administrator and the head of Victoria Nursing security. The administration was very apologetic and replaced the items, but no one was caught or reprimanded. Someone is stealing from these poor souls. We don’t know if it was a staff member, another resident or a visitor. But without a doubt, their few belongings are being taken from them. If you must place your loved one in a nursing home, I urge you to find somewhere where the security is better for them and for your peace of mind.

I take a moment this evening to commend the center on its professionalism and caring attention to detail during the days prior and during Hurricane Irma. I am grateful for being afforded the opportunity to accompany my father during this time. This eased any anxiety he may have had for the storm and our safety. While there, I witnessed organizational planning at every step. As such, the center handled resident and evacuee needs with relative ease. It is my expectation, that this note serves as a well deserved kudo!

After having a couple of relatives, and family friends stay at the Victoria Center I really have gathered strong feelings about the place. The fact is I have never enjoyed these kinds of places and Victoria in my opinion is not ideal whatsoever. To begin with, the care is not top notch. A place whose main job is to take care of it's residents should do better to take care of their residents, which begins with employing more workers, not assigning 20 patients per worker but less. Also I specifically remember one of my relatives, who after having surgery went to Victoria, was completely neglected by her nurse who only came in to remove her food tray and move her position. The place itself, although very beautiful looking, seems to have both a parking and elevator problem, odds are you will be waiting a while to not only get a parking spot but also to go to your designated floor. Maybe it's just my experience, but I really did not enjoy what I saw of this place, although I am sure there are great things it is not exceptional at all.
