My parents have been in a 2 bedroom apartment for 3 months. Apartment is cleaned weekly and they love it. My mother's health had improved immensely since she was been there. She attends many if the activities. The staff is wonderful, they are always avail to help.

Holiday Whispering Oaks was nice. They gave three meals a day plus snacks. I like that because my mom won't have to worry about food. They had elevators and stairs and large communal areas. They would do a group activity almost every day. The only downside I've seen is that at the moment I went, you had to pay for your own WI-FI. They didn't have it provided at the time, but they said they were going to get it provided. The rooms were big enough for one person to live in comfortably. The staff during the tour was friendly. They're doing renovations, so I'm not sure what they look like at all times, but they looked clean, like the area that they weren't painting. They had aides from agencies, but you had to pay for them.

My parents were in Holiday Whispering Oaks. It was simply an apartment, but the apartment itself was perfect. The room was wonderful. A nice, quiet room. It was just very expensive. Whispering Oaks is a very fine facility. They have a very nice dining room and wonderful meals. They have good activities for the people that live there. Cleaning of the apartment was always good, friendly staff that came in once a week and kept the apartment clean.

My father has moved into Holiday Whispering Oaks. His room is beautiful. The place is so well maintained. It's a nice, bigger room than what he was in before, and it's less expensive. Everybody has been so helpful. Sarah and Nicole have done a fabulous job, and we're very happy. My dad's pretty happy with the food. They clean his room once a week, and they're taking good care of them. There is a courtyard and an exercise room. They have exercises three times a week, they play bingo, and they have a bus that takes you to doctor's appointments and out into the community if you want to go. My dad has gone to Wal-Mart, so he likes that. This home doesn't have any nursing care, so it is cheaper, but we feel we're getting a really good price for our money.

Holiday Whispering Oaks was located in a good area because it was close to a couple of restaurants and some plaza areas for shopping. The staff who gave us the tour was very friendly and professional. There were only a couple of washers and dryers on each floor, so I think that would be a problem if the residents do their laundry at the same time. They had an outside patio sitting area, but they didn't have a lot of amenities.

We went to Holiday Whispering Oaks in person. The staff was friendly. The rooms were very nice, but one thing I saw was they had just cleaned the carpets. The day before, and when we were touring them, the carpets were kind of bubbling up a little. It could have been a possible tripping hazard, but maybe they settled after they cleaned them. Other than that, it was very clean. They said they have a place to go at the back, but we didn't see the back part of it. When you walked in, there was a welcome desk there. The girl that worked behind the desk was very friendly and we had a gentleman show us around who was a temporary fill-in traveling person there. It's very welcoming. We got there right before dinnertime, so as we were leaving, everybody was gathering down to the dining hall, but we didn't see anyone out doing any activities or anything. They have a bus that takes people to doctor appointments or to outside activities. The rooms were very nice. The one that they showed us was a one-bedroom. When you walk in, it's just a small kitchen area, open living area, a bedroom, and a separate bathroom. It came with a refrigerator. They had a big pool table on one of the floors, a lounge area, a library area, and a little movie room.

Whispering Oaks was a very nice place. The rooms were very good and in excellent condition. They were very helpful in any type of financial aid that was possible. The dining room was also really nice. They had a little room for playing cards or bingo and a library full of books. One lady let us see what her place looked like. She welcomed us into her place to see what it looks like when it's furnished and it was nice. The lady staff I talked to was very helpful. Mike, who was her boss, was there with us, too. Any questions we had, they could answer them. Mike pretty much went over all the finances and what it would cost a month. They both walked with us through the whole place. They were very, very knowledgeable. He has called me back twice to see if we made a decision or where we're at on it. If only my mother could afford it, we would have looked into it more.

We visited Whispering Oaks. They're very, very nice people. I was impressed. I like how friendly they were. It was a beautiful place. The staff was great. The food smelled delicious. We didn't eat there, but the whole presentation was wonderful. If you need more care or less care, they laid it all out. If you needed things, they're there, but if you didn't, you're fine. They have a beauty salon. And if you need help with your medicine or something like that, you could have somebody come in to help you with your medicine. There's a small exercise area. They offered about everything you could ever want and need. There's transportation to doctor's appointments and stuff like that which is included in your rent.

We toured Whispering Oaks, and my father was very impressed with it. Their outdoor gazebo was beautiful. The landscaping (just the environment) is very well maintained. We talked to almost all of the staff, and almost everybody has been there for ten plus years (most of them are closer to twenty since it opened). The staff was all very, very friendly and helpful. The residents that we talked to just had nothing but positive to say about it. We had to stay for lunch and the food was delicious. There's a lot of different options as far as dietary restrictions or what you might be craving to eat. It wasn't just two things. They had a pretty good selection. The cook has been there for 20 years as well and loves it there. They have a chapel, an entertainment area, and laundry facilities throughout. They provide three meals a day, and those are included in the rent. There's no swimming pool, but there was a really nice little field at the side where I was able to fly my kite; that was fun. A lot of the residents really enjoyed that. The manager of that facility was very knowledgeable. He's been in contact with my dad ever since. He has been just the biggest help and gets right back to him if there's any questions that he has on financing or anything. From the outside, the facility looks kind of like an older apartment complex, but from the inside it's wonderful. It's a well maintained property.

I went to an in-person tour of Whispering Oaks. We were treated very well, and the tour was very nice. I found that I could probably go there anytime I needed to, so that's what I was looking for. In case we were incapacitated we wanted someplace to go that's nearby, and it's very nice. The studio was pretty small, but the other rooms were OK. I liked the two-bedroom one; it was really nice. The staff were very nice. They're just very nice people. There are a lot of amenities and as far as physical activity goes, I saw people playing dominoes, and that was about it. We just took a brief, quick tour. There was someone cleaning the rooms when we were there. It looked very clean. The design layout is fine. They have just about everything you could need there. I like everything about it; it was very nice. The staff were very polite and very nice.

I visited 2 nights during 3 different weeks while visiting my sister. I would not hesitate to move there if I did not have family in Nevada. My sister's bachelor apartment has plenty of room for all her comfort items and furniture. The staff were all very friendly and caring. They had a very good list of tempting activities and musical activities. The dining room staff were very efficient and helpful. There were lots of food choices and all the food was tasty and well presented. My sister does her own laundry but the laundry room was clean. Her carpeting needed a cleaning so I cleaned up a couple spots on her floor that I blamed the dog for, however, it was just spilled soapy water. The outside areas are pretty and have plenty of seats for all residents. Thank you for lending us the roll-a-way bed when our cousin also joined us. My sister prefers a bath tub to the existing shower. I got her a shower chair.

Whispering Oaks was wonderful, very clean, and looked like an upscale hotel. The apartments were spacious and very nice. They had a nice dining room and nice common spaces. It looked like a very nice community. I'm hoping my parents decide to make the decision to move there. Whispering Oaks has one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments. They're very nicely sized apartments. The bathrooms are very large and easily accessible. They have small kitchenettes, too. It is freshly painted with new carpets. The dining room is quite large. It looks like they have an on-site chef. The food looks good. There are lots of common areas. They have a small store that the residents could buy things from. I saw a theater room where residents were watching a movie, and some were in the common area playing dominoes.

My friend is moving to Whispering Oaks, but they're still waiting for VA approval. It was the best place we've seen, and the people were nice. The food is served three times a day, and cooked by chefs. The food is awesome, and tastes like it's from a 4-star restaurant.

The tour at Whispering Oaks was very well done, but the rooms were too small. The facility was very comfortable. They had a very nice dining room and a very comfortable meeting area. However, it didn't suit my requirements.

Whispering Oaks was absolutely beautiful, but it was independent living, and we thought my mom needed a little more help. The price was good. I would certainly recommend this place, if they're able to walk. It had a beautiful dining room. The staff people were very friendly and worked with me because I couldn’t decide whether to go with them or the other place. They are top-rated.

Whispering Oaks is attractive, comfortable, and filled with light. It has great food. It’s a wonderful community with very accommodating, understanding, and caring management. It doesn’t have a lot of competition for the price point, but I’m very pleased with it. My father is very pleased; what more could he want?

Whispering Oaks didn't have a garage and a pool and several other things that I was looking for, but they did have entertainment and food. The dining area and the rooms were clean. They furnished transportation and had a parking lot that's quite a ways off, and I wasn't overly impressed with the parking facility. The personnel was very sincere. I'd give them a 10.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

My mother has been in Whispering Oaks for two years now. It's excellent. The management is solid, and the facility itself is beautiful. It's independent living. However, you can subcontract if you wish as we did for additional support. They have two chefs. They have about 200 residents there, and probably 30% of the residents there are contracting with either Lutheran care services or other support. Like you could have someone come in to get your parent in, and out of bed for bathing; but it's not a nursing home. They have exercise programs every morning, they celebrate the holidays, they have groups from the community come in for entertainment, they do weekly blood pressure screenings, and the standard cookouts during the summer. It's a very good situation. She's in a studio apartment, and it has a kitchenette with a sink, cabinets, small refrigerator, and you can provide a microwave if you wish. There was a room for a dining table. The front part is a kitchenette. To the left is the bathroom which has all the standard things that you would need for someone who is aged; a living room area where we have a loveseat, and electric lift chair. The food is very good. The main meal as usual is at noon, but what they have that day is what they have that day. I told them I'm a diabetic, and as much as I like this place I couldn't live here because I can't get a diabetic diet here.

My mother-in-law is at Whispering Oaks. Everything has been very good. Everybody was very friendly and welcoming even during our visit. It was very bright and clean and that is important. We had one or two lunches there and we found it to be very good.
