I contacted Edenbrook looking for somewhere for my wife. I spoke to a Melanie first who was very kind and talked to me. She told me about the place and explained that my wife may need more care than they can give. Melanie had an Amber call me from her establishment. Amber came right to the hospital to see my wife and I. Amber spent two hours with my wife and I talking about my wife's wishes. She gave us ample information and we felt more confident in our decision to keep her home with some extra help. Amber helped coordinate hospice for my wife. Amber recognized my wife was failing and recommended hospice. I am happy I called Melanie and Amber. I would highly recommend anyone call this place when you need help. They sure know what they are talking about. Dale

Friendly, hardworking staff EARNED my respect. I arrived by ambulance, unable to even stand. The day I left, I got out of bed, dressed myself and walked, with a walker, out to my ride. As I re learned to walk, staff cheered me on in the hallway. The rooms were constantly cleaned. Probably could eat off the floor. The rooms were spacious and set up nice. They arranged transportation for my numerous DR appointments. I

My mother is in Edenbrook of Edina. We don't care for the place too much. Probably the same problem with most places nowadays, they're very short-staffed. When I did go there for family visits, they seemed accommodating and nice, but when I'm not there, they just pretty much leave her in the room and they're not that accommodating. It was nice, clean, and well organized and that part was good. My sister has been participating on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. If she wasn't participating, they pretty much would just let mom sit in the bed and do nothing, but my sister has been getting them to engage in physical therapy, which is good. If we weren't visiting and we weren't engaging, nothing would happen. The food is not very good at all.

The building is very old and not well kept. Mom mom was receiving from hip surgery and used a wheelchair to get from the bed to the bathroom. The bathroom was so small the wheelchair barley made it through the bathroom door let alone a aid to help with the transport. It took about 30-40 minuets for someone to come help my mom to the bathroom. Most of the staff was pleasant. One night person had a bad attitude and advised my mom to put a diaper on and just "pee in the diaper" versus using the bathroom. She stated several people do this. I was mortified at her comment. Mom mom did not get her blood pressure medication one morning they "ran out". The next day I asked about it and it still was not there. Eventually after I persuade the issue the nurse found it in the bottom of her medication cart. House keeping cleaned the room 1 time in 10 days. I know this because I slayed with her 23/7. My mom has dementia and needed my help. After 10 days we started to look at another rehab. Fortunalty her memory care facility said they would be able to accommodate her so we brought her there. Another thing that was odd was only one elevator was working. The other elevator was out of order. In the 10 days of being there I never say anyone trying to fix it. Seems like a disaster waiting to happen. Over all it was a very troubling experience. Go visit. Check out every floor. Walk the hallways.

Absolutely terrible service. The staff was so dismissive and rude. The food was cold and had the most awe full presentation. This is no place to put your loved one.

This was the worst experience ever! They left my elderly mother unattended without access to a walker, phone or call button for hours. They did not clean her room for 5 days. The food was inedible. Do NOT let anyone you care about go here! It was so bad that I filed a report with the state department.

The place does not smell like urine and the staff people I could find (which were few and far between) were polite and nice. However, my mom is in this place right now and they have already "lost" the brand new $50 heating pads I bought her 2 days ago. I tried to make a complaint to someone but nobody was around. My mom says the food is the worst she has ever had -- her dinner was a plate of sliced onions and tomatoes. The first room she was in was barren - not even a chair for someone to sit in when visiting - and all but one outlet was broken so they had a long orange extension cord strung up across the room to plug the tv in. It was a total hazard! It was about 85 degrees in the room (there are only portable AC units in the hallways - nothing in the rooms) so I had to bring her a fan. I will be surprised if this doesn't get lost or stolen before she leaves. My mom also has a sore on her head and they will not give her any antibacterial ointment - I had to bring her some of that, too. While looking for someone to complain to tonight I found a brand new nurse and she said she didn't know what to do because the person training her just disappeared. Only once when I have visited has there been anyone at the front reception desk. When I tried to call the facility during the day yesterday nobody answered. If your loved one needs any special attention, do NOT send them to this place -- there isn't enough staff.

My wife lived at Edenbrook for approximately 5 years. In her 5 years here the nurses have been great. The nursing assistants have been very nice and friendly and in general the facility employees have been very considerate. As in any setting there have been issues, but through common sense it has been resolved. In general it has been a good experience for our family.
