Wolk Manor Enriched Living Center

I've visited Wolk Manor for the first time a few months ago, I was very impressed by the level of hard work and service I saw being provided by each staff member. The community is very nice, very well cared for. It is easy to see that the staff and residents really love their community because they are meticulous in how they care for it. They keep it spotless - it's very, very, very clean but at the same time the atmosphere is so loving and laid-back that you never feel intimidating or worried that you are going to dirty something or mess something up.

The residents and their families all appear very happy to call Wolk Manor home/home for their loved ones, families are always welcome and the staff members cater to the families as much as the residents. This community is a based on a Jewish-foundation so Jewish families are able to find their loved ones a home that will respect and abide by Jewish beliefs and traditions. Most communities TRY to be multi-dominational, but it never quite seems to work out as well as they'd hope, so when I find strong communities that are based off of a single faith and overall the community is a good community than I am more likely to refer those searching.

There are many common areas and amenities available for the residents, many areas for socializing, activities, social events, and so on. Wolk Manor is a very social and active community which introduces and provides their residents to endless opportunities, programs, educational and religious lectures, discussions, groups, etc. There are many activities available to benefit the mind, body, and spirit. The activities are all very exciting and creative and they are always changing so that the residents never have to do the same thing twice if they don't choose to. Community work and volunteering projects are very popular around the residents, they absolutely find so much joy in being a part of the greater community and in helping others, especially around this time of year. I was very impressed with their social calendar - the residents here in this community have more things on the calendar for 1 month than I have seen for 6 months on some community calendar.

Wolk Manor is a wonderful community and I hope that people find that it's the perfect fit for them.

The nursing care is compassionate, skilled and very reliable. The facility is clean and beautifully appointed. The meals served our excellent. There is not as much variety and opportunities for stimulation offered through their Activities Program.

Nice faclilty with caring staff. Really try to help Alzheimer's patients. Good activites program for those who are willing to particpate. Food & dining services neededi imrpoved - about three years go. Nonprofit operated.

We moved my mom, with mid-stage Alzheimer's, from her home to Wolk Manor. My mom, frankly, is not the easiest person in the world, but we were delighted with the care she received at Wolk. The staff was generous with their time and responsive to her needs. A couple of the staff members formed special relationships with her -- taking extra time to visit with her when able.

Though Wolk is affiliate with the Jewish center in Rochester, I would not hesitate to recommend it to non-Jewish residents, provided they are religiously tolerant. However, if you are Jewish, they do have very nice (optional) Shabbat dinners and holiday
