Sacred Heart is a really lovely place full of retired nuns. They do their best for the residents, but assisted living was not the original purpose of this facility and it sometimes shows. As the nuns of Sacred Heart aged, the group decided to create an assisted living wing in order to continue financing the place. At heart, it is a very Christian establishment, which is comforting to those of strong faith. The church is beautiful, with a lot of history behind it. It is extremely accessible for the handicapped as well, and caregivers will come by to remind residents to come to mass. But as the entirety of the facility used to be the nuns' domain, they can be a bit protective of it. Visiting, you sometimes feel as though you are a guest in someone else's home. This effect is 100-fold if you are not of the Christian faith. As of a few years ago, they were still working out the kinks of what was public usage and what was the nuns' personal belongings. However, if you are religious and looking for assisted living in that line, I highly recommend Sacred Heart. The community is lovely, the place is spotless, and the seniors are full of vitality. The nuns are a trip too! Their presence, while a bit odd to the visitors, makes the place really feel like home. There's nothing sterile about it even though the cleanliness is impeccable. Because they are both residents and also "in charge" the treatment of all residents is great too.

Sacred Heart Villa is a lovely Christian assisted living facility with a sense of family and spirituality. The facility was created to house aging nuns and help finance their causes. The staff is very friendly and traditional, and the rooms are well-kept. A historic church provides the central worship space, and it is worth visiting just to attend a mass there. The nuns will push wheelchair-bound patients to mass as well, and the priest walks through to make sure everyone is able to take communion. It's amazing how the small things can mean so much. The only drawback is that they do not offer full care, so be careful of settling a relative there if their health is in rapid decline. Also, a few of the nuns are a bit set in their ways. I find it amusing, but a jewish relative was not so impressed.
