My grandmother has been at the Life Care Center of Ocala for almost a month now. This facility has been awesome. Everybody worked together to get her back into a healthy state. She was not walking and now she has exceeded our expectations of what she can do and she has finished rehab quicker than they expected. Everybody is very loving and attentive to her. She loves it there. Her room is comfortable. It is built in a way where she can move about with her walker as well as a wheelchair, and she's not in a situation where she can fall. She's assisted and well taken care of. They check on her daily, so she's not alone and lonely. They make sure that her room is clean. I haven't seen an issue at all when it comes to the upkeep of the building. They have spaces for them where they can do their crossword puzzles. They have a library, an ice cream parlor, and other common areas. They keep them well-fed. They have a menu that you're allowed to check what you want for the whole week, and they make sure they have the options for you. They're doing good with the food.

I've been in the Life Care Center of Ocala for two-and-a-half months now and I need more continued assistance. This place is very well equipped. It has a quarantine section and a long-term section. It's a big place. It's got over 200 beds and different aisles, and depending upon your problem, they kind of put those people together. I need a lot of help and whatnot. The food is quite good and the physical therapy is excellent. Everybody's having trouble getting help, but they dovetail with one another and people come in on the spur of the moment. That's a good sign they like working here. I can eat all of my lunch here. You select a week before and then they try to follow. We choose what they offer and most likely, if you circled the right thing, you'll get it. If you forget to circle something and it looks like you need some more, they'll substitute something. They always have three kinds of soup, salads, and meat. We have fish, chicken, beef, and a wonderful pork roast. For a large organization and they are well serving so many people, it's good food. They have different kinds of potatoes and sweet potatoes. They try to balance the meal out. They're in here cleaning every day. They serve ice cream twice a week at the ice cream parlor, popcorn another day, bingo, and card games. It's a nicely laid out place. They're very expensive, unfortunately. If your insurance will cover it, it's fine, but if your insurance runs out or you don't have insurance, it would be very expensive to be here. My insurance ran out last week and that's why I have to look for another place because I can't afford it. They give a lot of free stuff to us, supplies and things. I came here with nothing and I've got toothpaste, deodorant, cream, and shampoo, your bedding, and everything. That's all good. It's a 25-year-old place. It's not brand new.

I was in LifeCare Center back in Dec 2018, I found it very stressful,,, {!st} I was told I could only take a shower every other day, which I found out that was not true,, .. when they took me to get a shower, I told them I was not to get my wound wet, per doctor orders,,, But because it had a plastic film on the top, she argued with me that it would be ok,, I told her she needed to contact the drs office, but, she said it was ok,, When I got back in the room, I called the Dr.and they confirmed that I was not suppose to get it wet at ALL... the DR. CALLED THE COMPLEX AND A HEAD NURSE ,adminstrator, , had to change the bandage.. I was also Suppose to drink alot of water, and I did,, but I had to run down someone constantly to get water...I only spent 2 days there, and went home.. The physical therapy part of it was great,,, but, did not like the nursing facility.very stressful....Had to beg for a pillow,, until my roommate gave me one..But she was in there from being sick, so then i had to ask for a pillow case..I felt I could do better at home with homecare recovery..

Nursing care was great and food was good. Case Worker/ Social Services support for the family is practically non-existent. Family Members are left in the dark and given little assistance. Phone calls are seldom returned.

I had a family members there and we actually had to take them out due to the administration and the front office employees worried more about their position and their licenses. They would allow residents that were combative towards the cnas amd other residemts to stay at the facility. My grandmother was.harmed by the other resident. They would hire on help that would either not stay due to the circumstances of the facility or they did not want a guilty conscience. So please think of other places before coming here.

Life Care Center of Ocala is better than where my husband was before. The staff is very good. The place is very nice and clean, but the food is not typically good, as far as I'm concerned. The care, professionals, and admin are very good.

I had a friend of mine with dementia living in unit # 1. She suffered a fall from her wheel chair. Well let me start by saying that the CNA'S all the way to the DIRECTOR had different reports on the details of her fall. The patient ended up in the hospital with a fractured hip and when she was discharged, Life Care told the patient's family that all the beds were full. What a cover-up!!! Oh and by the way I gave one star because my family friend is alive.

I have seen various friends and neighbors do rehab at Life Care under a variety of circumstances: knee replacement, dimentia, kidney problems, etc ALL of these people have demonstrated an incredible return to their normal world. One person was very belligerant but the therapists handled him with incredible understanding and concern. He is now in assisted living thank you 100% to the people at Life Care. All others that I have had any association with have returned to their homes with no outside help. If I ever were asked to recommend a rehab facility, Life Care would ALWAYS be my recommendation.
