Oakleaf Village of Lexington

Oakleaf Village is a wonderful facility. I have a family member in the Alzheimer's wing and the staff is absolutely amazing. Alzheimer's patients are not the easiest to work with but every member of the staff treats them with love, care and respect. There are lots of safety features to keep the residents content and prevent them from getting lost or wandering into dangerous areas. My family member has shown noticeable improvement in her demeanor and physical fitness since she moved to Oakleaf. She eats well and the meals are balanced, healthy, and enjoyable. Oakleaf staff always handles crisis calmly and brilliantly. They contact the family promptly to make decisions when it is not an emergency and they know how to keep her calm in spite of her not always understanding what is going on. The facility is really beautiful. Her room is pleasant and personal, really quite enjoyable to be in. The common room is well kept and clean with comfortable chairs and lots of options for visiting your family member. I highly recommend Oakleaf for family members with Alzheimer's. They take better care of her than we could hope to at home.

I visited Oakleaf village of Lexington about two months ago. It is the most welcoming assisted living facility I have ever been to, the staff was very helpful in telling me where everything is located and they generally seemed pleased to be working there. I sat down with a few residents of the facility and they told me about themselves and I asked them how they liked living there, and they only had positive things to say about the place. There are plenty of activities for the residents to participate in like bingo, shuffleboard, movie time, and an indoor swimming pool that was built recently. Oakleaf Village is a very nice place for the elderly and I would recommended any senior in the Lexington-Columbia area to go there.
