Our family members get quality care at StoryPoint West. There are a variety of activities to engage in, thoughtful staff, and plenty to eat! You can be as active as you desire or enjoy some solitude in your apartment reading a book.

I toured StoryPoint Fort Wayne West. First of all, it is in the country, and it has a beautiful pond out front with a fountain. They also have a back area, so every room seems to have a good view. All the spaces that the staff showed me, even the one with a studio, was bigger than what my sister had had before. So, I was surprised and pleased with that, that they had larger rooms. They had a movie theater and dining room areas. It was close to lunchtime, so there were quite a few people in the dining area. I really didn't meet too many of the staff, just the lady that took me on a tour, and she was very nice and very knowledgeable. She gave me some tips on things, too. She did wonderful.

We knew very little about assisted living until a few months ago when our sister had a stroke and needed assistance. We are so pleased with StoryPoint Fort Wayne West. It is such a comfortable facility with such kind staff who are giving her the assistance she needs to function daily. We see improvements as the staff helps her. We enjoy getting to know the knowledgeable and helpful staff. They seem to enjoy their jobs and caring for the residents. The food choices are wonderful also, and there is such a variety to choose from. The rooms are cleaned regularly and very comfortable. Her laundry is done regularly and all her needs are taken care of. With her own furniture items around her it is homey and warm...not like a hospital or nursing home. We are so pleased with activities that are planned regularly and outings to restaurants, etc. We feel we made the perfect choice for our sister.

Having met with the staff for the first time I was impressed with their sincere interest in my mother's well being. It is never easy to trust the fact that others will provide the same care as you would. There was not one day I felt my mother was not being taken care of. If you are looking for that one place that could remotely substitute someones home Story Point is the place to be.

My parent enjoys her one bedroom efficiency, decorated with her favorites from home. After 9mo after being at Story Point she has become much more vibrant having others to socialize with. The staff is alway kind and helpful.

Story Point has been a great fit for my dad. The social part has been just what he needed. Many friendly people live and work here. He even likes the meals, says he has no complaints.

My Mom’s experience in Memory Care at StoryPoint was amazing. They worked with her to get her medicines balanced correctly and were able to greatly improve her nutrition. They also added plenty of mental and physical stimulation which all resulted in her ability to move to assisted living where today she is thriving.

My parents moved to Indiana 2 1/2 years ago. They are very happy being residents of StoryPoint West. They enjoy being able to choose activities each day and Bingo is their favorite. They also enjoy movies in the theater and occasional bus trips. Meals in the dining room have a 'restaurant' atmosphere. They say that the staff are very friendly and helpful and we, as a family feel the same. Their apartment is perfect for them and has become 'home'. One benefit that we appreciate is the Wellness Center. The medical staff is very caring and can triage or give direction if a medical situation arises. We believe that they are in a safe and caring environment.

Overall the facility is nice. There is a lot of potential at StoryPoint West. However, like many other senior living facilities they are struggling with staffing, particularly in the dining room. The service in the dining room is often very slow and the hours have been cut. The food is sometimes not great, although overall my parent enjoys it. Perhaps my greatest concern is that the emergency pendant system is "first page, first serve". They do not triage the pages. A resident could be having a heart attack or a stroke and if 3 other residents paged the staff first, it could be awhile before a staff member reaches your loved one's room. My research of other facilities has revealed that this lack of a triage process is not uncommon. This a definitely a question you should ask when vetting a senior facility. The rooms are a nice size in comparison to other facilities I visited. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They seem to have a lot of activities for the residents, but my parent rarely participates in them.

I’m just learning about senior living. I’m loving the interaction my mom is receiving & the calls I get from staff concerning her. I’m only a month into this new life for my Mom but I wish there could be more fresh fruits & vegetables. That said I do understand institutional food & maybe the difficulty ordering for the facility. Thanks for all you do.

My Dad has been a resident of Story Point for four years. He likes his privacy of his own apartment. The room is cleaned once a week and they change and laundry his sheets and towels. Any problems in the apartment are handled promptly by the maintenance staff. The food is good, the staff is friendly, and all needs are met. Still waiting on an internet update and I miss the email updates that I used to receive from the Hearth. Would highly recommend Story Point.

We toured StoryPoint Fort Wayne West, which was a very nice place. The thing that stands out the most about that place was the fact that they offered exercise at an exercise facility that could have helped my husband keep strong while he was there. The staff was very friendly, and the facility was very bright, very clean. The clients there were very engaging. When we came in, my husband immediately found a friend and they had a really good conversation, so I know that his social needs are being met there. They are willing to transport him to a place where he exercises currently. The staff was very friendly. The guy that showed us around was very, very nice, very accommodating, and very knowledgeable. He's had 30 years in the business and so he's had a lot of good experiences to share. The rooms were very clean, and very bright, with lots of sunshine. The place was very homey. There were a couple of fireplaces that were going, it was very clean and bright, the people were friendly and the clients were up and active and doing things.

My dad has moved into StoryPoint Fort Wayne West. He has been there for about a month now. So far, so good. His room is nice. It's a one-bedroom and a living room area. The maintenance and upkeep are so far, so good. He has been there that long. The staff members are very nice. Food is better than what he was probably doing before. I like that it's close to my sister's house. They have a social hour and bingo. He hasn't participated in anything yet, he's still too new, and he is just still trying to get used to losing my mom and everything else. The outdoor spaces are nice. The dining area is like a restaurant. It's expensive for what he's paying.

StoryPoint Fort Wayne West was the first place I toured and that's the place we ended up choosing for my mom. She has already moved in and the deciding factor was, she's a smoker and there's a small area outside where residents are allowed to smoke. There's only maybe three or four of them that do, but that was what basically swayed the decision. They're in between chefs right now, so while they have the chef, the food is really good but that's a little touch and go now because they have other staff members filling in. They were doing field trips out to some places but most of their drivers just retired, so that's a little hit and miss right now too. They also have an activities director and there's like bingo going on in a day and all kinds of stuff. I think they keep them active.

We toured StoryPoint Fort Wayne West. It is very close to our home, and it is very nice. We toured the independent living and the assisted living. They have exercise rooms, a billiards room, and everyday they have group activities. There are games and different types of group activities. The staff was very nice and very helpful. They were very good and very efficient. I have not stayed here yet, but from what I saw it is a very nice facility.

My aunt is living here. It's excellent. It's clean, beautiful, and welcoming. The staff members are excellent. They seem to be very friendly and willing to please with different levels of care to accommodate the residents. The food is excellent. The dining area is facing the patio. It is very light and open with lots of window. It is very pleasins. There is a lot of room for people with wheelchairs so they're not bumping into everybody. There seems to be a lot of activities. Obviously there's Bingo, because everybody loves Bingo. The other day there was around-the-world trivia; I was very pleased with that because it's an activity that involves using your brain.

It has great care, and they do great communication with the customers. The outline on the rooms is a little larger, so you don't have that locked-in feel, and they have nurses and doctors on staff. They have different age-appropriate games like singing or cards. They try to get involved in activities that they would really enjoy. The meals are good, and they have a bus for transportation.

It was very nice. The people seemed happy. The rooms were lovely. It was just not exactly what I was looking for my mother. The residents were playing games, and the staff was busy. It was very nice. It was very clean. The people were very well taken care of.

It was very nice, very new, and seemed home-like. I liked that in the assisted living they had an actual kitchen with a stove and full-size refrigerator. If you wanted to cook, you could, and makes you feel at home. You would not have to rely on the dining room for all your meals. The staff is very knowledgeable, very friendly, and knew the answers to the questions we had. They were very good.

It was very nice. The rooms were amazing. They were all spacious and clean with very bright windows. The one room we were considering was a corner room. I would say that the place was new enough as opposed to other facilities.

This is our choice for mom because the majority of our family lives in Fort Wayne area and they want her to be close to their smaller children to be able to participate in their activities. It has an excellent level of nursing care over and above the assisted living and she needs that. It is a wonderfully pleasant place. They have activities and they go on bus trips weekly. The staff is pretty impressive, very caring and shows her a lot of affection.
