Sterling House of Chandler

Sterling House is older, but it was homey. I didn't really see many staff, but from what the tour director told me, they have an LPN 24 hours a day. Although it seemed like the non-medical staff was limited compare to the number of residents that they have. So that was a concern. They made it sound good, but it just seemed like the numbers didn't add up to me. The rooms were very small studio type rooms.

Sterling House in Chandler is a great facility. Because it is smaller, the staff are able to give more individualized attention to each resident. The building and grounds are beautiful and very well kept. The facility has a very home-like feeling to it and the care staff is very welcoming to visitors and the families of the residents. During my visit, the residents were joined together enjoying live entertainment which happened to be an Elvis impersonator. The residents, staff, and guests were having a blast! The staff members were encouraging the residents to dance and sing-along and it was great to watch the interaction between the care team and the residents as all the staff were very gentle and optimistic when conversing with the residents. I spoke with a son of one of the residents and he said that several of the staff members call his mother "mom" and that she loves it since she had 7 children of her own and she was like a mom to all their friends. He said that on every birthday of hers, the staff will buy a cake that reads "Happy Birthday Mom!" and that it really makes his mother feel very special. I have heard little stories like this from many of the facilities' residents and their families, and I can honestly say that I have not heard one complaint from anyone which is a huge accomplishment. The Sterling House in Chandler is a wonderful facility for your loved ones, where you will never have to worry about if they are being loved and well cared for.
