I am the primary caregiver for my mother who is 90 yrs. old and lives with me. I retired in 2013 due to health problems (i.e. avib and chronic CHF). I know she is on partial medicaid but I'm not sure exactly what that means. She desperately needs hearing aids but they can cost up to $10,000! I cannot afford that at all since I went into bankruptcy due to our health problems. Is there anywhere she can get help for a decent pair of hearing aids. She is getting so frustrated I believe she is deteriorating partly because of this. When the doctors asked her in a hospital how far she would let them go to keep her alive, she responded I want to stay alive. Her overall health is very good for her age but she can't walk. Please let me know what I can do to help her! Thanks,

Sorry, I didn't get to finish my question, my question is how do I get Medicaid to approve a hepatitis C treatment for me?

I'm on SSI / Medicaid and have Hepatitis C. I have been trying to get one of the new treatments such as harvoni and my GI specialist has been the one trying to get these treatments for me. Medicaid keeps denying me, basically saying that I'm not sick enough or that I can't be on the medication due to the pain medication that I'm on, which is methadone.

For those that need helps in applying for Medi-Cal for nursing home in CA and understanding the eligibility requirements for both assets and income, and if you are paying private pay in nursing home because you can't qualify because of too much assets, you should talk and find the right resource company and/or person that could save you a lot of money.

My step-daughter is intellectually disabled and deaf. She is 35 years old and we've decided that it's time for assisted living for her. We aren't ancient but we won't live forever. She needs this kind of help. The State of Nebraska has the worst HHS department in the country. They have no programs in place to assist her. BUT, IF she had gone to school in this state there would be help available. Makes no sense. I need suggestions on where to turn next.

Medicaid needs to include hearing aids to seniors who can't afford them, it is at the expense of us caregivers and family to live with the frustration of that senior. We have enough to deal with when it comes to a dying loved one and what we want to say to them and have them hear us before they die. Hello!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today I want to introduce the 113th congressional bill H.R.5024 This bill would give a 5 year credit to our Social Security for having to stay at home and take care of our family members. Please one and all. Go to Congress.gov and search for the bill. Then click on send my reps a letter. Please everyone help pass this bill. It has been in congress for years. Not enough people send letters to their reps. The letters are all ready to send, you just click the buttons. Nothing else to do. It is easy and effective. Thanks you.frickenfrog
