About Library Square

At every Laureate Group community, expect to find a choice of apartment styles and sizes in both independent and assisted living, numerous common spaces, and attractive grounds. But that’s just the beginning. Look beyond the real estate to find the true heart of our communities.

Library Square in West Allis is located next door to the Public Library and is just minutes from the Farmer’s Market and other convenience services. At Library Square, you’ll find many opportunities to stay active and involved. You’ll find neighbors who play in the handbell choir, volunteer for local causes or enjoy gardening in the raised flower beds. There’s card clubs, Bible study, Wii bowling, and other socially engaging activities. There is always something to do, and someone to do it with.

Library Square is a community of people dedicated to helping you stay healthy, active and engaged so you can truly enjoy this time of life. And everyone who works here has one thing in common: an appreciation and respect for older adults. You’ll see it in the friendly smiles, the genuine interest in stories from the past and the way our staff relates to everyone who lives here.

The offerings at Library Square match the diverse make-up of those who live here. People are as active as they want to be. Every month there is a full calendar of social and educational opportunities offered to residents.

In our communities, seniors do not merely reside. They thrive. That’s because ensuring their good health and helping them stay active and engaged isn’t merely part of a mission statement that hangs on a wall, it’s part of our daily routine. And our full-time Lifestyle Director monitors the number and types of programs at Library Square monthly to make sure that the expected balance of social, wellness, creative, educational and spiritual activities are scheduled. Here are a just a few examples of Library Square activities:

Social

Stop at a daily Coffee Club and discuss the news of the day, join the Garden Club, or take part in a read-aloud book club for folks with low vision. Play Bunco, rummy, sheepshead or bingo. Attend a cooking demonstration (and eat or drink the results!) Try trivia, blackjack or join the dining or lifestyle advisory groups and share all your ideas. Check the calendar to see what shopping or sightseeing trips are coming up. And be sure to make the monthly birthday party. There’s something to do every single day.

Health & Wellness

Try the daily exercise class, or Sitting Fit Chair Yoga, a game of balloon volleyball or toss some horseshoes to improve balance. The Walking Club gets everyone moving and doubles as a social club. Build strength and endurance with Wi bowling while you play for a league trophy. Try Zumba Gold or Tai Chi and get your blood pressure checked at a scheduled wellness clinic. During the summer, visit the West Allis Farmer’s Market for fresh fruit and vegetables. And enjoy healthy and tasty dining daily, with choices at every meal, prepared onsite by highly trained chefs. We offer tangible ways to live healthier.

Creative and Educational

Try a new craft project on Saturday afternoon or attend one of the presentations during the week. Learn about Taking Care of Your Eyes or the Trains in Library Square’s backyard. The topics vary monthly. Join mental Aerobics or play Scrabble to test your brain fitness. Many people living at Library Square have tried new hobbies or learned about things they just never seemed to have time to try before. It’s easy to stay active and involved.

Spiritual

Continue to attend your own congregation or come to weekly Eucharist Service or Catholic Mass right at Library Square. We appreciate the community volunteers that bring services to our residents Join a group for Bible study or for a weekly rosary. There are many opportunities to remain spiritually nourished. Library Square is open to all faiths.
