Assisted Living Reviews for BRIA of Trinity Village

August 24, 2017

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

Our grandmother ended up going to a nursing home for hospice care at BRIA of Trinity Village. The staff was excellent. Her room needed some improvement though. The drapes were quite old, it was kind of gloomy in there, and there was damage on certain walls. It wasn't horrible, but it wasn't aesthetically cozy. They need fresh paint. It was old, but pretty clean. The dining areas were kind of messy, but it seemed like they were understaffed, so there wasn't a lot there to clean up the mess after dinner or breakfast. They should make it feel a little bit happier, maybe a fresh coat of paint and cleaner windows to let the sun come in a little bit. They have really good staff and caring people, but the surroundings are a little gloomy. There was one person that was kind of disconnected, but almost everyone that we have interacted with was really compassionate and caring and thorough in their job. When they have a patient that's in hospice care, they should move them to an area where there are less activities so that the person can be at peace. She was in a wing and there was a lot of commotion with the other residents, like a lady yelled one night. You don't want your dying relative to hear someone screaming if this is the end of their life. We weren't really satisfied with the hospice care there.

BRIA of Trinity Village was a very beautiful place. We liked all the things that they had to offer. The people who worked there were very caring. The rooms were very nice, spacious, and very clean, just like a regular apartment home. They had outings once a week. They had a room for sewing or knitting, and a room to play cards and watch TV in.

The lady I talked to at BRIA of Trinity Village was really nice. All the rooms were a beautifully size with bathrooms and showers. The place was really clean and wonderful. The dining room was big.

BRIA of Trinity Village was nice. In the room, the kitchen was small, the bedroom was nice and big, and the bathroom was OK. The dining room was really nice. They were in the middle of remodeling. The people who worked there were very nice. The residents were well taken care of.

My mother transitioned here yesterday from the hospital. Here's how the transition went: tv not working, short staffed, delivered meds late, confusion about what meds dr ordered even though my mother has a copy of the same list Trinity has, bolt in the base of bed poking my mother in back,...and this is only day ONE! Years ago my mother had a great experience however I heard that new management is in place and things aren't going well. I will give them a chance to rectify the issues otherwise I will have to find a way to move my mother to Alexian or place in Menomonee Falls.

If I knew what I know now, I would have never sent my mother there. This place is horrible! My mother cant move on her own. Her feeding tube has been pulled out by staff 3 times in less than 6 months, which required her to go to the emergency room each time. Bria of Trinity is often understaffed. Right now as I write this review, there are no CNA's in the building. The CNA's are often rude, very unprofessional, disrespectful, and a few were abusive. There are some that are very nice, but the others have unacceptable behavior. I have complained to the State. It took months for the State to do an actual investigation. And of course the staff was on their best behavior while the State was there. I have watched my mother being cleaned up after having a bowel movement. The dirty diaper and linen was thrown on the floor during the process. The CNAs kept the same gloves on during the process and did NOT take the dirty gloves off after they were done. They did not wash their hands afterwards! They would pick up all of the dirty linen and the dirty depends off the floor, put it in a bag and leave the room. With the same gloves on! There has been times Bria of Trinity has run out of gloves! Recently, there were signs all over stating there was an outbreak of an intestinal infection in the building. My mother has had this infection twice and has been hospitalized for it. I have met with management. They are full of excuses. As I stated earlier, my mother can't move. Her pillow has been yanked from under her head by a staff member. She has had to sit in her dirty diaper for hours because the CNAs say they will be right back. The CNAs would avoid her until their shift ended, Then the next shift would have to do it. Please avoid this place if you can!

Bria was OK; I just didn’t want to be there. It was too big for me. The staff was very nice, and the residents looked OK.

I visited this facility

BRIA of Trinity Village is a relatively old facility that has changed hands several times. It's very spread-out and not in a very desirable place in Milwaukee. Accessibility by car is somewhat difficult, and the rooms weren't impressive. They don't have a whole lot of amenities.

I like the spacious apartments here in BRIA of Trinity Village. The staff is professional. They treat everyone with consideration and understanding. I love the place. There are a number of activities. I haven't partaked in any yet because I have been getting myself unpacked and moved in; however, I know there's music, singing, and several hobby activities. They go on outings. We get one meal in the independent side.

I toured Bria of Trinity Village. The facility and the apartments are very nice. I had dinner there, but the food was not great. I did not like the mix of independent living with assisted living, and I didn't like the area either.

My brother was in BRIA before. When he was first placed there, the staff was good, treated him great, and was very cooperative. However, a new company took over, and the original staff resigned, and they cut down on staff to the point that the service became lousy. The top nurses were nice. The building was OK, but management was lacking. The dining setup was great, but he would not eat in the dining room.

Trinity Village has been good. I've been living here for almost five years now. This was more affordable, and I'm very pleased with them. There are services available if we need them, like assisted living, rehab, and nursing home all in the same facility with free meals and free laundry. They have a regular dining room that we can go to but we choose not to go to because we can always have meals in our apartment. They have different sizes of apartments and the one I have fits my needs. They have quite a few activities. They have an exercise room and Bible studies. The staff is nice and accommodating.
