I liked Brookdale Middleton Stonefield best. I liked the layout of the facility and I liked the staff members that I met. It's all on one floor and the person that's staying there can walk around. It's sort of a circular, flat, one-story area which I think is nice. The staff members were helpful and seemed friendly and I liked especially the woman in charge of the activities. She's very enthusiastic. There's a nice enclosed garden space in their centrally located courtyard.

I have never seen such a connected group of families, like I have at Brookdale Middleton Stonefield. We all keep in touch and talk to each other and say hi to other family members loved ones when stopping in, the staff there are always happy and engaging with everyone. Britta is a doll and keeps everyone busy and having fun! I can't express how happy I am that we chose this location for our Grandma. She has a cozy studio and it fits all she could need and the layout is very easy to get around. Beautiful outdoor secured walking area with seating. In a wonderful location.

My spouse has been there for more than one year. The place has a very nice atmosphere. The senior staff has improved greatly over time and the care given my wife is excellent. I highly recommend.

My husband has been living at Brookdale Middleton Stonefield for a little over a year and I couldn't be happier with the care he is receiving. The caregivers are top notch and absolutely do care about the residents. I toured a lot of west Madison/Middleton Alzheimer's and dementia homes and chose this after a doctor recommendation, a friend's recommendation (her mom has lived there for a number of years), and because it just felt right. Like a home. It's not fancy, but it is amazing. If you're looking, please check them out.

Do not bring your loved one here! My mother stayed here for less than one year. The management is terrible. They do not care about the residents, only profit. The executive director is uncaring and incompetent. 4 families left along with us because the executive director was so terrible and the corporate office didn't care.

My brother and I visited several times while we were looking for a place for our uncle. I thought that the food was really bad and there were no menus so I couldn't tell what was being served. Then I found the menus on their Stonefield website (they show what the main meal is, below the sample menu) and they sound fantastic. But it was definitely NOT what the people were being served. I heard alarms going off all the time and i met a woman there who said it takes forever for someone to come help her husband. I also didn't see anyone washing hands or wearing gloves. I work in the food service industry and gloves are always worn. I wouldn't want anyone feeding my uncle because it doesn't look like they wash their hands at all! Most of the activities don't seem interesting for my uncle. He wants to have adult conversations and i noticed a lot of the residents there were being spoken to like a child.

They appeared to care about the residents, and they kept an eye on them at Brookdale Middleton Stonefield. The interior was brand new, and they had very nice bathrooms.

What I liked about Clare Bridge is that there are a lot of men. My wife likes men and not women. It probably consists of 50% men who are quite coherent and she enjoys that. What I’m worried about is her happiness and if she is happy then I am happy -- she is happy there. The staff has always been more than helpful and the place is clean enough. They serve three meals a day -- they have two snacks in between and if you get hungry, they’ll bring you a sandwich.

The person that showed me around Clare Bridge of Middleton was very helpful. He gave me a tour and showed me the facility and the amenities that were available. The dining room was nice and clean. The staff seemed like they took good care of the people who needed attention. He also did follow up, but I told him I had to put it off because I won’t need it anymore for mom.

My husband is in Clare Bridge for about a year now. It's near my home. They've restricted my visits to two hours. I was visiting him all the time, but there was some bad incident. My son is the guardian, so they can do anything they want him to do. I'm not happy with the staff. Four months ago, he caught nora virus. He had a temperature of over 101, his blood pressure was 83/43 and I took him to the hospital. They told me he was fine and they would check him in two hours. I think he would have been dead by then. They try to keep him in bed all the time. He'd like to come home.

My Dad lived at this facility and there are pluses and minuses. The facility is clean and I love the home-like setting. There is a fireplace in the "living room" which my Dad loved when he first arrived. The rooms are arranged in a figure eight, so it is easy for residents to get around. My Dad would take his walker out to the couch and lay down in front of the fire. The activity director is very good, but my Dad declined rapidly and couldn't take part for long. I felt as though the staff devoted time to the people with the least dementia and ignored some of the others. As my Dad got weaker he slept a lot and they usually just left him in his room while they attended to other residents who were more aware. Then at lunch time, I would see them come in and hoist him into his chair, eyes closed, and slumped over and wheel him to his table. They wedged him against a wall so he would not try to get up and be "disruptive." They also lost his possessions often and didn't seem to care about finding them. Although his name was in them, they lost his glasses, 2 watches and at least 10 paris of pants. Also, the pants that he did still have, started to all be ripped. My Dad was not strong enough to rip them and the staff helped him get dressed and changed his Depends, so it must have been the staff who caused the rips. Then they would still dress him in those pants with a 12 inch rip in the back or near the front zipper. The reason we ultimately moved him was that Clare Bridge is part of Brookdale Senior Living, an out-of-state corporation. The facility was fairly pricey to begin with and they added on for each little task they need to help him with. For instance, they charged $118 just to mix his Carnation Instant Breakfast, which I supplied. (Other residents also used this, so they actually made a pitcher which they poured from. I thought that amount charged per resident seemed excessive). As his dementia progressed, the cost almost doubled from the original rate -- with no relief in site. We moved him to make his funds last a little longer. Since it was not locally owned, the rate increases were fixed and corporate was not willing to adjust them to keep him there.
