My husband was at Orchard Park for a few weeks. They were a little understaffed at the time, and I had to go complain because they hadn't changed his clothes. The other care that he got was fine, and it seemed good. They worked with him to get him up on his feet and moving around. There wasn't anything I didn't like except for that one day, but I understand that they get shorthanded. It was a nice place, it was clean, and everybody was friendly. The staff was very nice and very caring. If I asked for something, they got it right away. I think he was well cared for, except for that one day when they were understaffed.

My mom was here for about a year this place had ants the food was not good some of the staff was very friendly and others not so much. Divita the care manager would tell you what you want to hear but not do what she said they ended up moving my mother out of the facility without telling me even tho she said she wouldn't without me being able to see where she was going or telling me an address. I didn't get either unfortunately my mom had a stroke and it has effected her memory so she didn't know the address or the name of the place where she was. If you love the person who is going to have to stay here just dont send them here. They are severely understaffed. Not much physical therapy or occupational therapy. They lost my mom one appointment and I had to go find her myself this place is a joke. Covid ridden one death and like 70 some residents like 30 staff members. Please do not send you loved one here

My wife was recently a patient at Orchard Park. I would like to pay a compliment to all the nurses, nurse aids, physical therapists and social workers that assisted with my wife's care. All were truly professional, caring and understanding of my wife's needs during her stay there. All persons treated her (and me) with respect when asking questions about her care. I felt completely comfortable with my wife being at Orchard Pary. Again, thank you for giving my wife caring and professional care.

Do not even consider this as an option for someone you even slightly care about. You will be greeted by Madison as the admissions person and she is about the only good thing in this place. Don't let that deceive you. My MIL came to this facility after a long hospital stay for short term skilled nursing so she could return home. Orchard Park should not be allowed to use the word skilled or nursing in their description. It was a nightmare from the moment she arrived. I will give you only a few of the issues because the list is too long for a review. She needed medications and they failed to tell the hospital that those medications would not be there until after midnight on her first day. One of those was a breathing treatment. When I called I was told "She's breathing!" When I explained that she had buzzed for a nurse to come over and over and no one came for well over a half an hour so what would happen if she stopped breathing, she replied, "We don't come in more than we have to and when meal trays are passed out they make sure they are all breathing. If its not during one of those times then she has a roommate!" As you can imagine that flippant attitude was the start of our nightmare. I immediately reported this to the social worker who then has an obligation to report. My gut tells me that report may not have been filed but I'll give them more time to file it! We began to suspect that we were being told lies about her care and well being after watching them all day and then getting reports that didn't match what we saw. The BP machine would show low BP so they would take it by hand and say it was fine ( when we got to the ER it was matching the machine). They couldn't even do the most basic things such as measure her drainage as required by the doctor that released her to skilled nursing (and I reminded them daily). They assured us they were but then two medical assistants slipped up and told us that none of them ever do it. The nurse assured me that had done it that morning. If one person is doing it and two aren't you can't possibly have accurate numbers. This, on top of so many other things sent us over the edge. While there complaining about this lack of care, she was again delivered a regular meal with a ticket that said low sodium (the required meal plan for her) along with salt packets. Yes, I have pictures to prove it. This disregard for her health happened daily right in front of us and they always found a way to cover it. On this same day, we lifted her pant legs to our horror to see water retention like we had never seen. We immediately called her real doctors and told them and they suggested we get her to an ER. We immediately scooped her up and left. Upon arrival at the ER the nurse and doctor both told us we had an ethical responsibility to report this facility. We are in the process of doing that. My MIL was admitted back to the hospital after leaving this place and we were told we were lucky we took her there when we did. I promise you, this is not a good place if your loved one needs more than a bed, salty meal, and tv (the tv is pushing it since they refused to give her a battery for her remote until the following day). Please trust me on this, no one should be subjected to this lack of care.

The rooms were nice-have showers in them. The staff was very attentive and helpful. Melissa was very accommodating to making sure I knew what to expect. The nurses took the time to call my family and update them. I would recommend this place to anyone who needs rehab.

The staff is over worked, under staffed and not all are qualified. The director has singled out my dad for not going to the Orange traffic cone to smoke. Yes it's a NON smoking facility. But STAFF, visitors and residents can be seen smoking right out the same door my dad has smoked. So my father will be moved to Ballard. He has no family in Ballard. Meanwhile smoking will continue by others on the property. Please. Drive by yourself and see. See the bin of dirty ice being used because the director is not capable of getting an ice machine fixed after being broken for MONTHS! I saw my dad's dinner one day. A dry sandwich with low quality meat not so fresh vegetables. The place is smelly. HIS laundry is seldom returned to him. Instead he gets some weird mismatched lost and found items. Do your loved ones a favor go check this place out first before you send your family here. There has to be a better option. Good luck.
