My mom moved into North Point Village. When I walked in it didn't look like a hospital setting. The staff was cordial and caring. So far, my mom's been engaged with the activities. They provide physical assistance. Her apartment is an adorable one-bedroom with a large bathroom area, a great little view of the back park area, and a little kitchenette. I tried the lasagna that they made one day, and that was really good.

I really liked North Point Village. The reason I didn't choose it is that they just have bedrooms, they don't have the studio apartment with the bathroom in the room. They have male bathrooms and female bathrooms, in that bathroom there's one toilet, one shower. I would imagine that if you really had to go to the bathroom, it could be another concern. It doesn't take my dad that much to get upset. That was the only reason I decided not to go with them. They're remodeling right now and doing a beautiful job. I got to go in one of the buildings that they're in the process of remodeling, and that's nice to see that they're putting as much effort in memory care as assisted living. The upkeep and maintenance seemed topnotch. The staff were very nice, and I even had a chance to talk to a caregiver on my own. I asked the marketing representative to leave so I could talk, because I'm a caregiver myself to my son. So I asked her a lot of questions, and she's very happy there. They do continue training, and she loves engaging with the people. You could tell that they love her, they were very happy around her. Something else that I thought was nice was, as the marketing guy was walking around, he was just keeping his eyes out. Like when a couple of caregivers walked outside, he just peeked out the window and he said, "It's not that I don't trust anybody, it's just nice to keep an eye out." That made me feel good, that they keep an eye on how the caregivers are behaving and acting while they're on the job. There was a beauty salon and barber. I think they did have a doctor that would come in. They do laundry and housekeeping. They do the laundry once a week or more if needed. Their care goes all the way through the end of life, which was nice. The dining area looked very nice. He gave me a menu, and actually sent me home with food, which I thought was very nice. It was very good, delicious, and fresh. The menu looked like it changed all the time and looked like it was always fresh produce with really good options. If they don't like the option that's going to be that night, they just need to let them know and they have other things they can serve. Everybody, from caregivers to the residents seemed very happy. It didn't seem like you're putting on a front, everybody just intermingled, and was just so friendly, and that's a big thing. It was very clean. The meals were good. They had good activity things, some of those aren't included for memory care, but that's kind of the way it is. He did start the tour in an apartment for assisted living. It was absolutely beautiful. Then memory care is just down to a bedroom, so that's a little unfortunate. The memory care bedroom without the bathroom was very disappointing to me.

My first impression was not the best. It was so tight and closed in. The person who was supposed to give us a tour wasn't there, so someone else gave us a tour. We weren't impressed with anything that we saw there. It just wasn't for our mom. The room was nice. They showed us areas where puzzles were set-up, but I didn't really see any activities.

My dad likes the food and the people. So far, it has been good. He likes his tablemates, he likes the food, and he likes where he is. It is absolutely clean and well-maintained. It is a nice community and a nice staff to take care of people. They take good care of him.

The activities director, Kim, was awesome and made a great first impression. Everybody's been super nice, and the facility is super clean. My mom is there now, and she said the food's not that great. They go on trips, outings, and have activities throughout the day.

My mother has been in here for about 5 or 6 weeks now, and it has been excellent. Actually, we are really happy. She is in an apartment, and it has 3 rooms. It is all very good. The people have been very nice to her. She do not want to move. She loves the food, she has gained a weight, and she is healthier. It has all been a very good experience for her. It has been exactly what we want it to be. The staff has been genuinely courteous, and they genuinely care about the residents. It is nice.
