The people are very nice. One hand doesn’t know what the other is doing though. My mother has gone from level 1 to level 5 and her bill went from 4500 to 6700 a month. Plus they prorated a month that cost me 7600. They dont know how to make a bed. She likes her caregivers. She s 95 and has kinda given up but they are having her do pt. Of course Thats insurance based so more money. She s finds most of the food cold and tasteless but she likes some of the desserts. Every one in assisted stays in their rooms. Their is some entertainment in the afternoon.its the best place i could find. She ll be wiped out financially within a year but at least medicaid picks up after.

I visited a friend at Alpine Way Continuing Care. She was very upset because they run out of butter, they run out of gravy, and they cut the chicken to a fourth of an inch thick so it gets so tough they can't eat it. She had not much nice to say about the dining room. Otherwise, the room's pretty nice. It had a lot of room, but of course, they don't have much kitchen cause it's three meals a day there. It was a nice little room, with a patio. Most of it is flat and it's one story, so it's easy to get around it. It is kind of like a spoke of a wheel. I went to visit her specifically because she just had moved in there about two months ago. I wasn't going there to critique the place. But I noticed that she had a nice size little apartment with a living room, a kitchen, and a dining room. And then she had her bedroom. One thing that I noticed right away is that there's no seat in the shower, and there are two little ledges just about six inches at the front and the back of it. So, you really couldn't get a shower chair in there. She uses her walker which I think is kind of dangerous. She's 10-12 years older than I am. The hand grips were not part of the tub surround and look like it was added later. So, my first thought is they're going to leak inside the wall. I believe her toilet is short. As we get older, you need that little height, the extra inches, for a tall toilet so you can easily get up and down. She's got a hip and a knee issue, and a small toilet was just crazy. I think they're going to install a bigger one. So, I hope that'll be solved for her then. I don't know what they can do about the shower, though. She's in independent living. I just kind of walk past the dining area to get back to her room. It is nice enough. They were cleaning up. I got there at 1:30 and they're just cleaning up from lunch. I met the girl at the front desk, and she was very nice. Their cleaning crew didn't show up, so they were running late. Behind one of the chairs out in the library, right against the wall, a cup and a napkin were stuck inside of it. My friend said that they had been there the whole time she's been there, and I don't know if they're overlooking it, or they must not be moving furniture to vacuum or anything.

This is a beautiful facility and have very caring staff. Most places wouldn’t be able to deal well with early onset Alzheimer’s (my sister is only 55)

Alpine Way was well kept with various size rooms. The residents were OK, and the food was good.

My husband is in memory care now at Alpine Way. I chose this community because it is five miles down from my home. Their staff is excellent. They are extremely helpful. They're helpful in every way possible with a man with Alzheimer's and Parkinson's. Their rooms are OK -- nothing spectacular but they're very nice. My husband shares a room but at the moment, he has it to himself so there is quite a lot of room. The food is very tasty. It is very good. The dining room is OK. It is extremely clean. Alpine Way has a very good reputation. They also do support programs, which I go to, and that's how we actually ended up going to Alpine. However, I would like to have more gardens around the area and that's the only complaint I have about Alpine.

My mother-in-law's been in Alpine Way for about a month now. My father-in-law chose this facility because it's closer to him. The facility seems very nice. The food service is very nice. The apartment I saw seems to be clean, modern, and attractive. We had quite a bit of contact with the staff by email and by phone, working things out with my mother and father-in-law. They seem to be very eager to help and supportive and trying to make things work for them.
