Assisted Living Reviews for Quail Park - Lynnwood

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident
My mom is living in Quail Park Lynnwood. It's a very nice place and much better than the other memory care facilities that I saw. They seem to be taking very good care of my mom, although they are a little bit challenged on activities since they've have quite a bit turnover and they have a hard time getting people hired. The food is OK, and they offer two choices for food. You can order off a menu if you really want to make an effort to do so, but my mom and I would feel bad doing that in front of other people. My mom can, however, go to the assisted living side and eat in their nice dining room for free, but she'd have to get over there by herself. The rooms are nice and kept clean. The place is painted a lively color, and there are lots of big, pretty, and interesting murals on the wall. It's not a drab, medical-looking place. It's very nicely-decorated inside. Some of the staff members are excellent, and some are a little lazy.

It's a beautiful, new facility, but completely understaffed. The independent residents seem to be doing fine, but residents in Memory Care aren't getting the attention they need. For those residents with extra needs (and pretty much everyone in memory care DOES have an extra need), they're ignored because there's always some other crisis going on. Our family gets constant phone calls from mom who is in Memory Care, crying or asking where anyone is. There's only one nurse on staff at a time (plenty of orderlies, who seem to be standing around waiting for someone to tell them what to do -- taking no initiative and pretty clueless about even basic things). If the one nurse is involved with a resident, that leaves the remaining 40+ residents unattended. This is a SUPER expensive facility, and our family seems to be there all the time advocating for mom. What are we paying all this money for when we end up coming in every day to be the caregivers?

The people in Quail Park and the program itself made up our mind to put mom there. They have so many wonderful activities everyday, but mostly it was the wonderful people. They have a very well-trained and loving staff; it was just a quality place. Mom has a beautiful, big, sunny room, carpeted floor, and a lovely bathroom. It’s beautiful and brand new. The food is wonderful and there are two different dining rooms: I can either eat with her in the memory care or go to a big dining room. She is very happy, secured, and satisfied there.

Quail Park of Lynnwood only opened last January, so it's a brand new center. The location and community is just very nice. It's a retirement, assisted and memory care community, but mom is in the memory care. Mom has a brand new room, and we brought her furniture. It's not even half full, because they haven't opened up the second floor. It's almost one caregiver to one person there. The fact that it's new means they're constantly learning. She's kind of in between assisted living and memory care, so we take care of her shower and we're not paying for extra medical service. I haven't eaten in the restaurant, but I've tried their snacks. They make cookies or bread every day. They're also putting up a fancier dining room. Every time I go there, it seemed like they're always interacting. The last time I was there, they were playing bingo. They take them on field trips, too. The only problem they have right now is maintaining housekeeping. I think that's very important in memory care. They are still in the learning process.

I visited this facility
Quail Park of Lynnwood is a new facility. It's really close to my home. It's huge. It seemed like a really good place but I thought Mom would get lost in such a large place and not get the care that I wanted for her. It was a beautiful place though. It hasn't opened yet but when I walked in, the people there were really friendly. They were really attentive. They showed me the place. The rooms were very nice. They have small suites and then they have large apartments depending on what you can afford. The small suites have their own little kitchenette with marble countertops. With regards to dining facilities, they actually had three places to eat. They have a large dining room, a bar, and a coffee shop. Other amenities include their own theater, a workout room, and a library. It's just nice all-around facility. In the center of the facility, there is a garden area where people can go and do gardening and stuff if they wish. I was impressed with it, I just didn't think it would fit my mother's needs. Regarding activities, because they weren't opened yet, they wanted feedback from the residents there to see what kind of activities they would enjoy and then they're going to build a curriculum around that.
