I am/was a resident of this facility

I would not let my dog come here to die. They are very bad people. They treat the residents like garbage. You will not get the care you need. Late and undercooked meals. 4 weeks without a shower or having your bed sheets changes. Urine and fecal matter on the walls. Aids who treat you like garbage and threaten you. Lack of care from the nurses. The staff cover up things so they are not found out about. I do not see how these people get away with state inspections. The social workers not only lie, but are not qualified to do their job. Most aids are lazy and care less about helping and complain. A very dirty place. Nothing but being stuck in your room 24 hours a day with very little halp.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

I did not like the way my Mom was treated, moving her from room to room. Picking her up by the back of her pants. Always laughing at her. Never got to have a funeral for her when she passed away this past March because they never gave a check for burial until 1 day before she died. I would not recommend anyone"s loved one to be sent there. Don't know howmany times her teeth and clothes were lost. I will never hope to see anyone go through what my Mom had to go through.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

They have no concept of dementia/Alzheimer's and let the dementia people go to the doctor or hospital alone, which means that they can easily get themselves lost. I was told that they don't have staff to accompany them. What?? I was also told repeatedly by the nurse that my mother did not have pneumonia. And so she died, and they stated it was pneumonia.

I visited this facility

Manorcare Health Services-Gig Harbor is my favorite community pricewise, but they start from $900 to $1,200 dollars a month. My visit there was fantastic, but the price was way too high. The person who gave me the tour was nice and professional, but not warm. They also have excellent facilities.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My father recently spent time here before passing. The staff was helpful, courteous and kept him clean and comfortable throughout his stay. I also appreciated that the facility always looked well kept and there were never any obnoxious odors. Kudos again to the staff and housekeeping.

I am a friend or relative of resident

My sister just discharged from this nursing home. The staff did a tremendous job caring for her needs and really took the time to get to know her. When I would visit, they would always say hello and ask how things were going. The room was always clean, and the food was actually very good. And I have tasted some bad hospital food. Thanks Manor Care.

I am a friend or relative of resident

My father is currently living in this facility after a move from out of state. He was diagnosed with advancing dementia and became too difficult to manage at home. We were very displeased with the care that we saw in his facility in CA, but we have been wonderfully surprised with how well the staff at ManorCare cater to my father. I guess there are 2 different "sides" to the building--one where they do a lot of intensive rehabilitation and the side where my father lives, where it is more home-like. I can't speak to the other side, but the aides and nurses on the "long-term" side are very warm and nurturing. And the caring mentality goes all the way to the top--there was a time when my father was having some increased behaviors, and we were called in for a meeting. I was worried he was going to be kicked out, but the administrative staff wanted to sit and discuss different alternatives and ideas about what could be done. We were able to come up with some plans, and things have been better. There was also a fantastic winter party before Christmas where all the staff interacted with the patients, handed out presents, and entertained all the families. Overall, this is a top notch place that I would recommend to anyone.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

My mother is in Manor Care. The staff is very nice and right there for whatever you need, so they’re very responsive. The rooms are not really big, but they’re nice. They have a lot of day rooms and a lot of activities to keep them pretty busy. They have bingo, music, happy hour, and different kinds of games.

If you care for your loved one I would NOT recommend this place unless they are able to tell you what is going on. The nurses are friendly.. the staff is nice... but there are times we went in during the evening around dinner time and her lunch was still sitting out. On her chart they marked her down for eating more than half her lunch.. umm really the food was all still sitting there nobody had bothered to help feed her. They knew she was incapable of feeding herself. Also she was dropped on the ground numerous times by the crew. She was only about 105 to 110 lbs.. there were times we would go in and she would have bruises on her body but they had given her her medicine before we came in so she was to out of it to tell us what happened.. they would remember the time table we come to visit.. there were times we would come in or wait a day and come in to throw them off track and this is were we learned that she wasn't getting fed properly..she wasn't getting changed as much as she should have. She ended up getting uti's all the time etc. anyways the list goes on.. so unless your loved one is just going in and you know they will be leaving in a short period of time to go on with their lives Don't bring them here!!

I visited this facility

The staff was professional but friendly. The facility was well cared for and offered amenities such as weekly happy hour, special social events, dining geared towards the residents needs, an onsite physical therapy, and a place for residents to have hair cuts and other beauty treatments. The facility was a little over crowded, and slightly understaffed. Due to this the residents needs were not always taken care of in a timely manner.
