I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My husband is in Fauquier Health Rehabilitation & Nursing Center. They do a lot of things there and have a very good physical therapy program. Most of it is physical therapy. It is clean. Everybody is very accommodating. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The staff is very accommodating, take the time to talk to you, and let you know what your loved one is doing. They are very good. My husband has a feeding tube in his stomach, and they feed him in his room and do everything for him.

My mom is in The Fauquier Health Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. She’s very happy there, so we’re happy. We looked until we were blue in the face, and this one was the best that we went to. They were clean and seemed caring. They were holistic in their care approach, and that impressed us. The rooms were some of the better ones that we had seen. The bathrooms were a good size so Mom can get around. She’s very pleased with that and also raves about the food. I’ve seen and tasted it, and it is all very good. They do a nice job. They have a physical therapy attached to the rehab and nursing care with a saltwater pool, which is very nice. We had a little trouble getting the medications straight, but they’re very good about working with you on things like that. They met with me a few days after we moved her in, and they’re going to meet with me again Wednesday to go over her care plan. They’re very good about letting me be involved in how they’re treating her.

With experience here in Northern VA with 4 othets, this place is the only one I'd rrecommed. Ratings on Medicare give them all scores that would make you not want to use any of them. But what we found here was more caring aids and willingness of Administrator to remain approachable & accepting of criticism without making excuses. Granted the same complaint that plagues all similar type facilities is failure to respond in a timely manner to the call button light that beams in the hallway. And, there's nothing that can replace the watchful eyes/advocate that relatives & friends should exercise.

I am a friend or relative of resident

My Aunt was admitted to this facility after being diagnosed with Stage 4 Android Carcinoma (lung and brain cancer) When we arrived they did not have her oxydizer cannula, the room she shared was cramped and they had to take the room mates bed apart to get her in her bed. The first few days were an adjustment with short oxygen hoses, no connectors, slow staff, confused nurses, and constant checking and doing research as well ass calling to get her situated. After arranging for transport to radiation treatment my Aunt began her stay at the facility. We had one family member there everyday. Every visit we were witness to lack of equipment, incompetence, in appropriate PT, OT conversations about race, gender as well as gossip about patients. They took more than 30 minutes to allow my Aunt to relieve herself on more than one occasion and on average her wait to go was 15 minutes, with diarrhea, incontinence, and medicine induced stomach issues this was not acceptable. PT connected her hose to her oxygen tank incorrectly and her SAT was 82 for 12 minutes before they figured it out. They changed out her oxydizer for a regular cannula without physician permission and lowered her oxygen level to 5 when it had never been below 6. The staff was apologetic but did not try. The attending physician Dr. Simpson, an internist in Warrenton, never visited my Aunt when she was awake. He examined all patients at 3am...while they were sleeping per the staff. The last straw was the PT incident, after my Aunts SAT fell and she request the physician to examine her and I also demanded he see her, he refused stating if she dipped in her SAT again repeatedly they should send her to the ER otherwise he trusted the nursing staff to take care of the situation and keep him informed.
