I toured Atlantic Shores. It's a welcoming experience. I thought the facilities were very well kept. The people that I met seemed very happy and engaged. They were very friendly. It's a very warm place. In the apartment, there's no furniture included. You supply your own furniture, but it's very up-to-date and clean. It looked brand new. The bedroom was carpeted. The dining area was a restaurant type. They have three restaurants, and you choose from a menu. The food was excellent. They prepare your meals for you. You don't just eat what you serve. You select from a menu.

Not only is Atlantic Shores beautiful and the food yummy, the staff is both highly caring and highly competent. They have been absolutely wonderful to my father and I could not appreciate them more.

My mom was at Atlantic Shores. They had quite a bit to offer there. They did a lot with the seniors, like arts and crafts and stuff like that. They had little bands that came in for music, and my mom seemed to enjoy it. The staff was very good. They were very caring people. They served very good food. They did flower arrangement one day and they did cards. They had a lady there playing different music from Ireland.

Everything about Atlantic Shores would be suitable for us. At our age, it's perfect. Housekeeping was great. The staff was terrific. The amenities were wonderful. You have your choice of meals, whether you want them or not. Nothing is forced on you, but everything is available. The food was excellent. The last meal that we had there was a buffet. We went to a Mix and Mingle and it was quite nice. Aside from the delicious appetizers, we had entertainment, a lady was playing the piano, and we had wine. It was wonderful. They also have a gym, a swimming pool, clubs, cards, dances once a week, and entertainment at the parties. It's just a nice place.

My mother moved to Atlantic Shores over a year ago. She has thrived and we've been very happy with the facility, personnel and services provided. I think that the biggest difference between Atlantic Shores and other senior living facilities is that it is a co-op, with residents 'owning the property' and residents on the board of directors; their goal is to make living there a delight instead of constant cost-cutting to make a profit. Food is amazing in all 3 dining rooms. Highly recommend.

From day one of my husband's placement in Assisted Living at Atlantic Shores, we continue to have sincere raves and praises for the caring staff and administrators. The nursing staff along with each aide is exceptional with their positive comments and genuine attention to my husband's needs. Even when bathing or sprucing up is needed, each caretaker is patient and ever so careful to encourage him to participate despite his emerging forgetfulness and arthritis condition. Each time I visit him, I'm warmly greeted and have been able to share any of my concerns with them. The administrators are forthcoming in letting me know the extent of my husband's care. They follow-through diligently on any and all requests. I am comforted by this exceptional staff knowing that my husband is receiving the best care available.

Right now, we're looking at Atlantic Shores. The first thing is that the outside was just beautiful. Everything was well taken care of. It was clean. There were a lot of facilities. They had everything there that you could think of. They had two restaurants, a salon, a wellness clinic, nurses, and things like that. Everything was clean and pretty, and they had a lot of stuff available for people that live there. We were shown independent and assisted living. They showed us the clubhouse, where the medical facilities are, and the skilled nursing part of it, too. They have a beauty parlor, a pool area, and a nice restaurant that was included in their monthly fees, they get two meals a day. There's a little bistro, a pool, and a gym. This place is awesome. I would live there if I could.

Atlantic Shores was updated, clean, and friendly. The apartment I saw was light and airy with plenty of room. Paula, the person who assisted me during the tour, was very helpful. We weren't able to try any food, but the dining area was very beautiful. They had several options for dining. They were all very beautiful and well taken care of. They have lots of activities for the residents, such as happy hours, walking dogs together, art activities, and the theater. It was very active. We toured the independent living part of it.

The staff at Atlantic Shores was exceptional and incredibly committed on every level. I've eaten there and their food was excellent. Their facilities were gorgeous. Their exterior and interior and social opportunities were great. Their restaurant and grounds were beautiful. They have everything you can imagine like cards, games, socializing, pool, classes, exercise (they have a full gym), a salon, a concierge, a driver, and everything you could ask for.

Atlantic Shores was nice. I went there for dinner with a friend, and the people I met seemed to be very happy. Their food is not cheap, but it is very good. Due to COVID, they have changed the chef there, so I'm not sure whether the food is still the same now. Atlantic Shores has a different outlook on the way they do things. You buy the facility; it's not like rental. In a lot of these facilities, if the toilet leaks, you call them, they fix it, and it doesn't you cost anything. At Atlantic Shores, if your toilet leaks, you have to pay to have that fixed. She got a really good deal for her apartment, but you are still going to pay your monthly payments, even after your death.

Mom has lived in Atlantic Shores for a few years, and she's in their independent living. It's very nice. It's a little crazy, but the care is good, and it feels like family. The food is five-star dining. They can do anything they want, they can go shopping, or to the theater, there's in-house stuff like an exercise class, and bible studies, so it's a little bit of everything. The staff is wonderful, and they take a lot of pride in what they do.

My mother is in Atlantic Shores, and it's very good. They are able to assist her very well. She went from independent living to assisted living. They have somebody that comes in and cleans for her, they do physical therapy now, and her specific facility is set up low so that she doesn't have to lift her arms very much in order to get her dishes. Everything is set up very well for her. They have transportation to go out to doctors or shopping. The facility is very large, they have two dining rooms, one is upper scale and the other is like a cafeteria. They have a lot of groups for the residents to participate in. It's a beautiful area, and they have a lot of top-notch doctors because it's near a military facility. If a family wants to come for a visit, they can stay there short term for a nominal fee. The food is fantastic.

Super friendly place that provides all the amenities one would wish for. Lots of options for independent liveng from large villas on a beautiful campus to one and two bedroom apartments in three different high rise buildings. The food is well prepared in three restaurants with lots of options on the menus that change weekly. The staff works well with the residents to provide activities that they request. My wife and I first set foot on this place 13 years before we were ready to move, but knew that when the time was right we would come here . . . and we did. No regrets. Hppy, happy, happy.

My husband and I will be moving to independent living at Atlantic Shores. It has great social life and buses for medical transportation, shops, and trips. Independent living people can have the medical care that the assisted living and memory care people have to a certain extent. They have a big campus where you can ride around on a bike. The location is pretty good and the place is beautifully kept. We're going to a two-bedroom with a living room, two bathrooms and a very nice, big balcony. They also have one-bedrooms, three-bedrooms, villas for younger people and memory care on a different place in the campus. They have three restaurants, a beauty salon, libraries, game rooms and swimming pools. We're looking forward to it. We'll be moving in on December 1st. The staff is wonderful and excellent consider they're not tipped. Everybody is kind and very nice. The food is really good and they have excellent menus. I am highly impressed.

We were going to look at several retirement communities in the Virginia Beach area but looked no further after seeing Atlantic Shores. Beautiful campus, award winning healthcare on premises (with a continuum provided), warm welcoming residents, award winning cuisine, 3 beautiful restaurants, incredible activities on campus and off - shopping trips, cruises, New York trips, etc., indoor swimming pool and gym, wonderful staff, pet friendly - and all at reasonable cost. Our only regret is we didn't move here years ago to enjoy this easy, vacation-like lifestyle!

We chose Seaside HHC @ Atlantic Shore because we have been there before, and the care was very good. They were able to offer me a private room for my dad, and the timing just worked out right. They have given exemplary care, and my dad is doing well.

I visited Atlantic Shores, and the place was very, very pretty. The management seemed accommodating and friendly. At the time that I visited, they did not have any rooms available. Their amenities were superb. It reminded me of a library in an upscale hotel. It is very well appointed, very rich-looking. The location was fantastic. Their activities were also more upscale. They had museum visits, visits to the library, and to theater. It would be a great place to live.

We really liked was Atlantic Shores. It was very nice and had staff who were very welcoming, very accommodating in every way, and informative. I enjoyed meeting them. They took us for lunch, and we had a lovely time. The rooms were very nice. There were two-bedroom apartments and villas available. We only saw a model apartment, which was very nice and affordable. It was not exactly elegant, but it was a very homey, nice, and easy place to be. The food was very good and very nutritious. The dining room was pleasant.

The apartments were pretty good at Atlantic Shores. Their sizes and accommodations seemed to be fine. I was not too happy with the dining room. It seemed to be gloomier than others, and it smelled funny.

Atlantic Shores was OK. The atmosphere was good. The staff was very good and very nice. The rooms were too small, but they were decorated nicely. The dining room was very good. Everything was good other than everything being too small. We would have a little table for two and two chairs in the kitchen and call it the breakfast room. We're not used to something that small. They did have a swimming pool and an exercise room, but the location is terrible.

I live here in Atlantic Shores. It is excellent. You are going to have your privacy but you have a community and whatever you need, you are well taken care of. There is security. They have opportunities for travel. They have outings to various locations, i.e., for dinner and for wine tasting locations. They have the local strawberry fest community and I get involved with that. There is involvement with guide dogs for the blind. They have any kind of exercises that you want to get involved in. They also have any kind of art class you need. They have movies. The community is not stagnant in any way. It is refreshing in what they have to offer. You have a lot of choices. In terms of cleanliness, I have housecleaning. They come every other week.

I chose Marina Bay at Atlantic Shores because my friend lives here at Atlantic Shores. She had an apartment here and then she went into the assisted living at Harbourway, and now she is in unit here. It is a progressive thing within the community here, so it is easy for me to be able to take care of her there and also, they know her. The clinic here also where her primary care physician is at. My friend is getting excellent care. The ratio of the staff to the people within the community is good, so she has excellent care and I'm very comfortable with it. I'm relieved. I was spending five to six days a week visiting her and now, I can go once a week and know that she has been taken care of during the week. The food is good. They have very good activities and that's one of her pleasures. They take them outside for rides and so forth. Activities are very, very good. Her room is sufficient.

We visited Atlantic Shores several times; we live near there. We know what they do and we appreciate it. I know several people who live there too. When Joan had one of her hip operations, she had her rehab there. And we were impressed. It was spacious and very, very pleasant. Everybody seemed great, and they followed up as well. We had gone there as guests to some of their fairs with gourmet dining and another with a program on downsizing, so we think we know something about that. When we ever feel we have to move, that’ll be high on our list. I saw nothing I didn’t like.

Atlantic Shores is very, very nice. I've been there a couple of times. There was someone there who we had dinner with and who has been there quite a while. The food and the staff were fine. They had all kinds of activities. They had trips to the beach, to the doctor's office, shopping. They had a little gardening place where you can garden outside. They had a library, a swimming pool, physical fitness activities. They have separate little cottages where you can cook if you want to, bedrooms, bath, the whole thing. It's like a small house, 1200 sq. ft. or 1400 sq. ft. Then they have apartments. We stayed in an apartment because there were no homes available, and the apartment was fine. It's like a hotel. It's very good. It's near the ocean; you're about 2 miles away. If you do any shopping, it's about 4 miles. If you like airplanes, it's great. Oceana is the Naval Air station where they fly F-18s at night and day, 24 hours, and it's at the end of the runway.

Atlantic Shores had an assisted living facility and memory unit on site, so if you needed a step down you didn't have to leave the facility. They had an onsite physical therapist and if you needed extra assistance or a private trainer, they were there. You did not need a lot of money upfront but you just had to buy into the Coop and get your unit. The apartment-style units had a patio, double-car garage, two bedrooms and decks in the back. There was no additional charge for the storage space. They had a meal plan at $165 included if you chose to eat in the facility. They had a multitude of activities, they had a lot of wildlife like turtles, ducks, cranes, hawks, among others and boats were available too. They had a long walk going up to the gazebo with a gate and buses were available without an extra charge. The facility was private, security guards were present and it was protected and secured.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. The common areas are very clean and open. The rooms and hall ways are very nicely kept and the staff is very friendly to their residents. Grounds maintenance does an excellent job as well as the security personnel that work there. The community is very large and has several roads that do not have road names so finding your way around to the correct building can be confusing if you have not visited before. There are many amenities in the facility including a very nice restraint as well as a hair salon. There are also other stores such as manicure and pedicure businesses. Overall it is a great place and rated well over the other ones in the area in my opinion. If I, or a family member had to go to an assisted living community this is the one I would want.
