I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

Do not hope to get a hold of any Personnel when you call there is only answering machines and the Staffing is not the greatest if you get in it's probably for a good reason why somebody took their relative out or they passed away because of their fine uncaring lovely Christian Waze as far as activities if they're in a third-floor there are no activities because his side all people sitting around a TV with something maybe on and only if they ask me they have something to drink

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

I was absolutely shocked by the care in this facility. The administrator was saccharine sweet during the initial meetings but afterward was just not available or disinterested in our concerns. There is an LPN who is the nursing administrator who is just as bad, never has time to talk about issues including medication questions. NO ONE washes or sanitizes their hands between rooms except one older lady who works the dayshift, I think she is a CNA. This is why COVID spreads so fast amongst the elderly. The rooms are tiny and patients are pretty much confined to their rooms. There are community showers and bathrooms. Patients seem to be pretty much on their own, if they ask a question, they get a snippy answer or silly giggle from that nurse in charge. They are consistently and dangerously understaffed, like 2 people on duty for 6 floors of rooms at night and only 3 or 4 on days or evenings. I will say the food was excellent and the laundry and housekeeping staff were very helpful. There are activities but the activity director is rarely there and is not very patient, rolls her eyes when having. to repeat directions to the dementia patients. There are some patients who shouldn't be there, two were found wandering outdoors by passersby and one assaulted a woman while my aunt lived there. Look elsewhere, I wish we had. My aunt deserved better than this and I'm sorry we placed her there.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mother lived at this home for a short time. The facility is cleaner than some places we visited but is an old building with some peeling paint and some ceiling tiles stained, overall a good scrubbing and a coat of paint would freshen it up. All rooms are private with shared bathrooms and the housekeepers work hard at keeping things tidy, the place doesn’t smell like a nursing home. The one time I needed a maintenance person the problem was fixed quickly. The administrator runs hot and cold, warm and friendly on some days, especially during admission and couldn’t be bothered on other days. She always appeared flighty, distracted and angry. Twice during visits we heard her yelling at employees. The administrative assistant has got to be one of the laziest and least pleasant people I’ve ever met. When asked for a second copy of the handbook for me, she refused. She was also in charge of all finances but seldom available or in her office to help. The kitchen staff seemed pleasant and the food was quite good. The true stars of this home are the nursing staff. The director is an older woman with a loving heart and a goal of providing good care to everyone, she just exudes empathy. She was often there after hours when I needed someone to talk to or to answer questions. She and all the resident assistants were very loving and kind, they went out of their way to make sure my mothers last days were comfortable and I will always be grateful. If the administrative people were half as good I would have given the place a 5 star rating.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

When I first talked about this place, a few people made negative comments so I was unsure about placing mom there. I looked around and found some truly awful places that smelled like urine with residents packed 3 to a room. When I first saw the Loretto Home, I was amazed at the cleanliness and home like atmosphere in the common areas. Each resident has a private room and most share a bathroom. Housekeeping, laundry, meals and medical care services are provided by cheerful, loving staff who seem to truly love their varied residents. There is a snack cart with homemade muffins and fruit brought around twice a day and a coffee area always open. Meals are delicious and varied but not "institutional'. The staff helped me apply for medicaid to defray costs. The nursing staff is engaged, caring and knowledgable. This place has gotten even better with the new administrator and director of nursing, both are energetic, pleasant and cheerful. Add to all this a nice activities schedule and transportation to medical appointments, and a city bus stop across the street. My mom even got to bring her cat to keep her company. Placing an elderly relative isn't easy but the Loretto Home puts my mind at ease, Mom has a clean, cheerful, loving place to live.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

The Loretto Home is an amazing facility. My relative enjoys her time here and the activities that the staff puts together for the residents. Each week she looks forward to her card games. She also enjoys the trips that the facility puts together. Every year she takes a bus trip around the town to see the Christmas lights. The facility itself is quite nice and provides for all of her needs. There is a courtyard in the center of the building. In the courtyard, there is a pavilion and flower beds that residents can visit. The meals are quite good and they change often as well. The nurses are very helpfull when there are problems and very nice as well. I think it is nice to see how much she is abe to spend time with the other residents. The activities the events coordinater puts together realy help give a community feel. Another example of this is the craft lessons given once a month for the residents.
