The Beehive House at East Millcreek used to be a fabulous care facility. Within the last year this facility has been sold. As a result of the sale, the quality of care to patients has gone downhill, the quality of the food is very poor, the moral of the staff is at a low point because of being over worked and underpaid, the cost to each patient has gone up, the attitude of the administration is poor, very slow or unresponsive to the family members concerns. I use to recommend this facility to others, but at this time would not and suggest you go elsewhere.

Since my husband left a raving review of this facility 3 years ago, things have changed. The ownership has changed and the fees were increased by $300 per month. We were told the increase was to give the employees a raise, which never happened. This year there was also a change in administration and 50% of the employees we loved were either dismissed or left because of so many negative changes to their schedules as well as their hours being cut. The employees that the residents were so comfortable with have now been replaced by agency CNA's that change all the time. Three of the cooks have quit and the quality of meals has also decreased. I am seriously considering a change or bringing my mother back home after 5 years of care there. Instead of the loving, warm home feeling we had in the beginning it now feels like a business. I feel that Covid19 has given management an excuse to be less dedicated and personal in their care. This coupled with the isolation the residents have been feeling for the past 8 months has become a major concern for the families as well as the residents.

Our mom was at the Salt Lake location for a little over a year before passing away. We moved her to Beehive after some poor care in another assisted living facility in the area. When we finally decided we had to move her we wanted something smaller and could actually help our mom with the things she needed. We liked the small facility setting and it felt more like a home than an institutionalized rest home. We were very thankful for the excellent care the staff and administrator provided for her in final times with us. They were always compassionate and friendly to her and us when we were there. The facility itself is clean and has a nice open feel to it.

I am/was a resident of this facility
No staffing. Horrible security. We paid our downpayment and were ready to move our loved one in to the memory care facility. On our last visit before move-in, we were shocked to find the back door propped open to the street and absolutely no staff available ANYWHERE! Repeated requests for a refund of our deposit because of this negligent operation have gone denied. Do not put your loved one in this facility: poor management, minimal staffing.

My parents are a resident of Beehive Homes for 6 months now. It's a smaller community, with about 20 rooms, and they have a gathering area outside of the rooms, where people can converse. The have a kitchen area where they make all their meals. The staff was really good, we're really pleased, and we felt a more personalized care. There's some social events which they organize, the rooms were more of the apartment-type.

If your loved one can basically take care of themselves, then this might be your place. But if you'd like them to get meds, and maybe even get them on time before they feel like they're going to die, and get extremely frustrated, this is probably not the place. Grandpa has been here one month and has had multiple experiences of being forgotten, meds not been on time, wrong meds given, too many meds given, had a fall, broke his ribs, been yelled at by residents... Perhaps it's just not working out for someone in his circumstance. I could go on but I think you get the picture...

I visited this facility
Beehive Homes of East Millcreek seemed really nice. We actually wanted to put Mom there but they didn't have any opening. The place seemed very clean, and the staff seemed good. There were individual rooms with bathrooms. The dining area seemed fine.

I visited this facility
BeeHive Homes is owned by different individuals. Someone told us it's a care facility. This facility is like 5 minutes from my house. Someone I knew was in it, so I went to visit her there and I thought that it's a really cool place. It's brand new. It's a smaller facility; they have like 16 people in it. It's very open when you walk in. The big living room is open. They have an open kitchen too. There, you can see everybody do everything. The eating area is altogether in a big open area. We really like it. We also like the fact that it has a cap on what they can charge you, so we will be saving like $2000 a month.
