The layout of The Wentworth at Draper is wonderful. They told me that the in-house doctor would be seeing my mother-in-law the day she would move in but that did not happen. I asked them about it a week or 2 later, they apologized and said that something had happened to where he was not able to come in but he was going to the next day. I asked to talk to the in-house doctor for feedback, but I have not heard anything so I'I don't know what's happening or if he has seen her. I'm not getting the feedback that I want. We're also working with the staff regarding my mother-in-law's insurance which sent paperwork to this community to be filled out. The insurance company called me saying that they have approved everything but haven't heard from Wentworth and didn't get any paperwork back. There are things that I like, although I'm finding things I don't like and I want updates. The first week they would text me a picture of her doing an activity, but I haven't heard anything about her participation in activities since that first week. When I wanted to visit her on Sunday, there was just a stack of clothes in her closet just piled there and none of them were hers. I started hanging up her clothes and there are several things missing. So I just loaded up all the clothes and took them over to them, I took her laundry home to do them myself. There are also extra things in her dirty laundry that's not hers and she's missing a few things. They said they'll look for her things, but I don't want to worry about her stuff getting tossed all over the place. The dining area has been nice, but the food looks a little gross to me and she's a picky eater. She won't eat bread but they gave her a sandwich every night so she just pushes it aside. I have asked them if they could just give her the meat off of the sandwich or some extra fruit or vegetables, but I don't see that happen. She has been hospitalized twice for dehydration because she doesn't drink anything. And I have asked the staff that there's a case of water in her room and water bottles in her nightstand, and to encourage her to drink. But when I go over after 2-3 days, it would still be the same exact water bottle with nothing out of it. I feel like I could be getting more care for what I'm paying for over there.
But the place is clean, the people there are nice. I don't see them spending a lot of time with the residents and I wish they would. They told me that they would take her out of the memory care area to do activities in the assisted living area but that hasn't happened yet. Some of the staff members are really good, but others are just sitting behind their desks. What I'm seeing over at Wentworth right now is that there's no interaction. When I'm there I make a point to go around and talk with each one of the residents, and I know their names and what they like. So I would take my mother-in-law over and I sit with them. And we visit people with things they have in common, and we walk around the hall and back, I don't see the people working there doing that, and that's what they're there for. It's not just to change diapers and throw food on the table, I just think they deserve our time. Her room is very nice, she's very happy with her little apartment.
