I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

1. Told I have to have an appt before coming to visiting hours (today Sun) you only get 1-4) No answer to the phone number provided. 2. Call the m ain number they don't answer, rings 15 times then clicks off. 3. Gave family the phone number and none of them have gotten through in 3 days. 4. My husband was on the phone in obvious distress, but it wasn't visiting hrs so they wouldn't let me in to calm him down. 5. Even when the EMT's called to take him from the ER back to them they didn't answer the phone and the comment I overheard was "we'll just have to go because they aren't answering".

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My father is at this place right now and had been for 3 months. Those three months you think that my dad would be walking and so much stronger right? Nope they took my father away from his family and loved ones for what? Too he staff do nothing they are lazy incompetent pieces of you know what... If he was here with his family he would be getting better care than what he is in this home!! And yet they still have my father there and we want him home right now because they do nothing to help him with his rehabilitation nothing.. .

I am/was a resident of this facility

I am a resident at North Canyon Care Center, and I have been very impressed with the level of care I am receiving. The nursing staff is very professional, prompt, courteous, and friendly, as well as being very concerned and attentive when I am experiencing additional pain or illness. The CNA's are very helpful, and do all they can to make me comfortable. I am very impressed with the therapy staff, as well. They always allow me rest when I need it, they are so friendly and kind and encouraging. The head of the kitchen staff is very interested in making sure you get exactly what you have requested. I got my order wrong on day and he handled the problem himself, even delivering it to my room with an apology. The people that run this place know what they are doing and the staff are well trained and consistent. Last, but certainly not least, the cleaning crew keep the rooms clean, bedding is changed regularly, and they are always cheerful. I would recommend this facility for any loved one

I am a friend or relative of a resident

My mother-in-law was at North Canyon Care Center, which was just temporary, and more of a rehab. Overall, it turned out to be quite ugly. The care staff was wonderful, though. I think they padded her bill and ordered medications that she wasn’t on. They lied to us about many things and said everything was covered under her Medicare AARP Complete, and now they’re turning around and sending us the bill for $2,800. My mother-in-law had physical therapy, but nobody ever told the aides that she was supposed to be getting up on her walker or anything like that. There was no followup. I told the aides, “Why are you taking her to the bathroom? She can get up on her walker. She is walking 100 feet downstairs in physical therapy. With assistance, you ought to be making her walk to the bathroom.” They were doing everything for her. Overall, I got a really bitter taste, and I would never recommend it to anybody.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

My husband has been at North Canyon Care Center for 10 days now. They are very wonderful. The staff is very nice and very good. They have very nice rooms. The food is wonderful, but my husband can't eat because of the antibiotics. However, their food is superior.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

My mother has been in North Canyon Care Center for a couple of months now, and it seems to be going fairly well. It's an older building, but it's pretty well maintained. They keep it clean, and it's right up by the mountain, so the views are good. They could probably improve on their communication to the family, not necessarily to the patient. Everything else is fine. It doesn't smell bad, and it doesn't smell like urine.

This facility is clean and well managed. The central location of the nursing staff makes it easy for residents and visitors to locate held. The rooms vary in size and sometimes patients are assigned to share a room based on medical condition and insurance. It seems as though nicer accomodations are provided for private insured patients versus Medicare/Medicaid patients. The rooms werent always cleaned to satisifaction, at one time I had to request cleaning products because the bathroom facilities were soiled and required immediate attention which was not paid. Occasionally I have experienced challenges in reaching a staff member by phone at certain hours of the day.
