I visited this facility

We selected Martin Crest for our father-in-law. One side is assisted living and one side is memory care. It's all together, and we toured both. It's very clean and very nice, and they've got very helpful staff. It was a great experience under the circumstances. They're very polite, very helpful, very informative, and very compassionate about the situation. I'm very pleased. They gave you a lot of hope that it would be a good fit for your loved one to go to that facility.

I visited this facility

We went to visit Martin Crest, and I liked what I saw upfront. I saw the clients that were living there. They encourage them to participate in the day-to-day living with the other clients. I didn't really see anything that I didn't like about the place. The cost is always too high. They do periodic exams to see where my mom could fit in the best. She could start off in assisted living, and then work her way to memory care. The staff who gave the tour was very informative. They gave us information on Alzheimer's, as well as her place of business. They're in the process of remodeling and getting it up to date. It's very clean and kept up, even though they said that they built the building in 2007. They're currently redoing a lot of it to make it more friendly for the patients or clients. They're located within about four or five miles of the hospital.

Provider Response

We are so happy to hear you had such an enjoyable experience on your recent tour with us Debra. We take pride in treating each resident with care while providing a comfortable atmosphere for residents to call home. We hope to welcome your loved one in the near future!

I visited this facility

We went to Martin Crest. They were very friendly, some of the residents were very friendly, the people that we talked to were friendly, and had lots of information. It's kind of an overload of information. They were very patient. They have a courtyard. It was very nice. We looked at the one bedroom. It was very clean.

Most of the staff seem kind and courteous but an awful lot of personal items "go missing". My friend has had clothing, figurines and blankets "disappear". If they weren't on covid lockdown I'd call in the police to make a report. I'd say use caution with this facility.

My dad has been in Martin Crest and so far everything has been really good. He really likes it, and the staff treats him very nice; they're really pleasant. The staff and everyone has been great. His room is very nice, they come and clean it, and everything is great. He likes that he gets a choice of his food. They don't have many activities right now because of the virus, but he enjoys the ones that they do have. Their overall atmosphere is happy and caring. Their facilities are very nice and clean; they keep it that way both outside and inside.

I visited this facility

I liked Martin Crest. It had a big open kitchen concept and they had cooks in there. You could smell food in the oven like you would at home. They're cooking real food there. It wasn't boxed and mass produced. It was a smaller facility, warmer, and homier. The residents could get a slice of pie in the kitchen, so they didn't have to wait until dessert. There were groups of people in the cafeteria talking when I visited. They had a big TV room and a courtyard. The rooms were small, but clean. You can bring in a small chair, a loveseat, your own TV, and put your own pictures on the wall. The admin who showed me around was very sweet and said they don't have a lot of staff turnover. They let the residents age out. If my mother were to fall again or have a stroke there, they would keep her. They wouldn't ship her out to a nursing home. They had a memory care section and those people are maintained differently than their average clients. If I would put mom into assisted living, that would be the first place I would choose.

My dad moved into Martin Crest, but he passed away. He fell twice, and the second time, he broke his hip. They hire young little girls, and they don't really care. It's a nice place, but I don't think they get the care they should and what they paid for. They did their best, but they're always understaffed.

I think that Martin Crest is a really great place. The people there look after everyone else. I'm glad I found it. It's located right near Walmart, clinics, banks, and offices right across the street. My mother's room is tiny, but they don't let them stay in the rooms and keep them busy outside, but it's a nice room. They have activities like bingo, and people come in to play music for all the assisted living and memory care residents. They have birthday parties and holiday parties, play kickball with a balloon and so on. Everything the residents need is taken care of. It's fantastic, clean, and neat.

Martin Crest was very quaint and cute inside, and very warm and friendly. They were very helpful in trying to see if we needed respite care. We didn’t have to bring furniture in since it would be inclusive. They had a dining hall and meals were delivered, too. They had activities, a veterans wall, outings, game nights, and visitors for different things.

I visited this facility

I was very disappointed in Martin Crest. I’m 86 years old, use a walker, and on oxygen. There was nowhere to park. I’m very disappointed with what I saw inside the place. The people that we talked to were very nice and very cordial. It seemed like they were crowded and didn't have time for anything. We got to see one room with more than one room and a kitchen. I don’t really think it was prepared for us to take a look and looked like whoever had been living in there had just moved out. They picked up their stuff, wiped it down a little bit and swept it, but that was it. They would have made a better impression on me if there was a place marked for handicapped people parking.

Martin Crest is nice but I cannot afford it. The staff who assisted me during my visit was nice. The entire facility was good. The apartment was nice and spacious.

I visited this facility

This facility is very well maintained. Some of the staff during the time that I visited were not as knowledgeable as they could have been about healthcare. The facility did not have the "nursing home" smell that morst facilities have, though.
