I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

Overture Sugar Land 55+ Apartment Homes is a very nice community. They are basically an upscale type of living over there. I have a coworker who lives there and that's how I was introduced to it initially. It's conveniently located to where I need to be. It sits behind the Sugarland baseball diamond, and they always have different activities, whether it's fireworks or games. Where Overture sits, people can just be on their balcony and enjoy some of that stuff. It is also very conveniently located to Highway 6. The rooms have a nice layout. The one that I saw is spacious, because the resident was able to have her four-chair dining room set plus her living area. It's also kind of like an open concept, but nothing looks crowded or congested. She had enough space for everything. And her bedroom is a nice size. I've been invited to a couple of activities that they've had. On Wednesdays and Fridays, for instance, they'll have game night. I don't know if they serve food every day, but sometimes they'll get together and have their own type of gathering, and they bring their own food or snacks or whatever. I know on Wednesdays they have something different put together. I don't know though if it's from the management, but they have food and then they have games or whatever. They'll celebrate birthdays, and on occasion they'll have something like line dancing. My coworker invited me there to do that. So, they try to have a mixture of things that people are interested in, and they have a community of people that really enjoyed gathering and getting to know each other, which is what I like. They had a cater when I went there one time. It was from the Olive Garden. They had the salad, the pastas, and the breadsticks. And then they had lemonade, tea, and water. I wish I can afford to live there. I've only been able to meet a couple of the staff. Some of them kind of oversee some of the activities. Sometimes they're onsite, depending on what time of day the activities are. They'll be on their phones just trying to make sure everybody has everything they need. They seem fairly reachable at all times. They were very informative and answered my questions. The activities are fun, very engaging, and they try to be inclusive as much as they can. It's nothing that they're pushing on anybody, they just put it out there. Those who want to participate, they come down to the gathering area. The area is nice and welcoming, because it's enough space. Example, if they have game night, they have several tables where some people may want to play cards, or this table here maybe dominoes, and some others may just want to sit in the chair. They have nice lounge areas. It's a beautiful place. The ambiance is bright, and they have these huge, tall windows that kind of look out both to the outside and to the pool area. It's really a nice area over there. I already know that this wouldn't work out for me. But if I could, I would definitely want to live there. My friend said it's a good value for her space, because she works from home sometimes, like we all do where we work. She has this little area. I like the setup of the apartment because I'm looking for somewhere where I can actually have this computer area. We have to work at home sometimes and we have three monitors, and I need to have a space where I can put that. A lot of apartments don't even have that space. You have to use your kitchen table or some other place. Those who are there, they appreciated Overture, so apparently it's what they're looking for.

I like Overture Sugar Land but it's way more than I would be willing to pay. I liked the fact that there were no children. I'm 70 years old and when I come home from work, I don't want to hear jumping, stomping, and running across the floor above my head. It was very quiet and very clean. Everything was very nice and it was very appealing to me. The only thing I wasn't crazy about was the price and it did not include a garage, that's separate. It's a very good place. It's just a little pricy as far as I'm concerned. The apartments were perfect, just a little smaller than what I have now. They had everything. The main thing is it's clean, bright and spacious as far as going down the hallways and everything. The apartment was nice and up-to-date with granite tile and stainless steel appliances. The bedrooms were good sized and the closets. I had no negative thoughts about the Overture 55+. It's just the price and I'm not willing to pay that. The young man that talked to me and took me around to take a look was very, very nice. They have a swimming pool that looked really, really nice and they have an area that is set up where before COVID, they used to gather and they will have activities down there like piano night or meet and greet night to get to know your neighbors and just get acquainted. They serve snacks; they don't have meals served. They had a little bit of live entertainment. I got the chance to see some of the tenants and they were very friendly.

I am/was a resident of this facility

I'm having a very great experience so far at Overture Sugar Land. However, we had a little mishap last night. The fire system went off, which was a false alarm, but it was so severe and even the fireman couldn't stop it, so they had to consequently shut it off until security could come and fix it. Other than that, everything has been just fine. The staff is wonderful, very supportive, and friendly. The community people are very friendly. So far, I'm very happy. They offer water aerobics, yoga, and mind games. There's a library, bingo, and social nights. Once a week the community meets downstairs, they have theater nights on Fridays, and once a month a chef will come in and do some cooking for us. There's a lot to participate in to keep you busy. The place is very much secure. Every morning there's a Continental breakfast, which is very good, and once a week there's a hot meal. There's also a beautiful suite there if you have family that comes and needs to stay. If you choose to stay longer longer than three days, there's a fee. They're very open to suggestions. They were very supportive of me moving in, and they made sure that everything came in correctly and my mail came in correctly. They were very much on top of it.

I loved Overture Sugar Land. It was gorgeous and it was a relatively new building. They have a beautiful pool, a lovely lobby, and a giant kitchen area. They have a suite where you could have guests stay over. They have huge vaulted ceilings. They have a game room with tables for playing cards and poker, a pool table, a movie theater, and a library. They have happy hours once a week. There was a bar area with a little lounge where people can congregate and chat, and several nice, large community areas where people can get together.

I visited this facility

Overture Sugar Land was the best I've seen so far. They have all kinds of really nice activities and they have a pool. There are three apartments on the first floor with backyards. The one in the corner had the biggest backyard and I loved it. All the apartments had granite countertops in the kitchen, up-to-date and very impressive. All the appliances are stainless steel and modern. The cabinets are very appealing. The bathrooms were nice, fairly big and had safety handles to help in the shower, bathtub and toilet. The whole building is very impressive because it's new, about less than a year old and I really fell in love with it. They don’t serve three meals a day but in the mornings they put cereal and brunch type things and spread it out on the table and you can take your choice, but they don't serve lunch or dinner.

Overture was awesome. I was looking forward to going there. It's very inviting, very contemporary, and beautiful. The kitchen was laid out well. I liked the pool and common areas. It was lovely. They had daily exercises, which I was looking forward to doing. I would recommend it to anyone. The staff was great. They've done a good job.
