If I could give Highland Pines NO stars, I would. ABSOLUTELY THE WORST PATIENT SERVICES EVER! The staff is not professional and does not attend to the patients until you complain. They do not have enough people to take care of the patients, and the nurses are always sitting at the desk talking. My sister did not receive a bath, nor did anyone offer to give her one. No one assisted her with her ADL's, and she had on the same clothes from the date she entered the facility until two days later when I finally changed them. Someone stole her brand new package of socks and house slippers. Highland Pines replaced them, but it's the fact that someone stole them in the first place. I was hesitant to place my sister in this facility due to Highland Pines previously having numerous Health and Life Safety Code violations. At the time, my sister was in the hospital. Her Social Worker informed me that she had been denied admission to other nursing facilities in the area due to COVID-19 and their lack of staff. But Highland Pines had accepted her. So, Highland Pines was not my choice. It was the last resort. After her admission, I quickly found out that the State Violations, such as the Life Safety and Health Codes noted to be corrected, were not fixed. The facility is still not developing a complete care plan that meets its resident's needs. This was evident after speaking with the nurse at the facility where my sister was transferred; the records transferred with her were inadequate. Highland Pines is still not making sure each resident is being watched and has assistance devices, when needed, to prevent accidents. My sister's call light was tied up to her nightstand, out of her reach. She fell on the second day at the facility. I am not sure what happened. The nurse that called me said that "my sister's wheelchair slide from under her." She said no was in the room when it happened. She was found on the floor in her bathroom. So, if no one was in the room, how does she know that my sister's wheelchair slipped from underneath her? The same day when I visited my sister, I had been in her room for 3.5 hours, and not one nurse or nurse aide stopped in to check on her. Mind you, High Land Pines's COVID-19 restrictions states that visitors can only visit for 2 hours. Additionally, when I arrived, my sister was soaked in urine, her brief was overflowing, her clothes hadn't been changed, and she stated that she was exhausted from sitting in her wheelchair all day long. So, in my opinion, I believe and have witnessed that Highland Pines is still not providing quality services. I would not advise nor recommend that anyone take their loved one to this facility. The was so AWFUL i had to clean my moms room myself and complaining did no good ..my mom was there for rehad she never receive due to covid i was told i came up there every day ..the staff was so rude ... my mom left there with bed sores and diaper rash she is only 66 years this was a dang night ,,i would cry every time i had to leave her there ,, my mom would put me on speaker phone as they would speak to her so mean ...i took her out of there and transfer here to Marshall and she got great care there ,, THE FOOD was a cold chesse sandwich at night like prison food

I had my father here after hip surgery. He loved it during his stay. The staff helped him while he was getting his rehab. The therapy staff pushed him and he was ready to go home in no time.

The rooms that I saw at Highland Pines Nursing Home were OK, but the service was terrible. The staff was OK but not enough to attend to the people. I was in there for rehab. The dining area was kind of crowded. and I didn't do any activities while I was there. The physical therapy was OK, but I didn't like the place very much. It was clean looking, and they had a physical therapy room. They didn't have enough people to take care of you. You had to take your bath by yourself and they never offered to do much for you.

The only reason I am giving 5 stars is because of the CNA'S, they are the best in the whole business, without any problems or unsatisfactory there is none, the management of this establishment I'm not giving them no stars, if it was up to me they would be fired, for not doing anything at all for anyone. I am giving the most important statement, it is a truest statement

I would never send another family member to this place. My father was sent here for wound care. The staff would not listen when my father's wound was getting horribly infected. The staff blew us off. I have been a nurse for 30 years and we had to threaten to call 911 and get an ambulance to get him to the hospital. When we arrived at a local hospital some hours later he was in Septic Shock. Because of the poor care here his wound is now a Stage 4 (all the way to the bone).
