I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

I have been using this facility for my brother respite for the past few years. He is a 100% disabled vet in a wheelchair but is able to transfer from chair to bed and chair to commode. He likes the facility as the room he is assigned allows him to transfer into/out of bed and use the restroom without assistance. He likes the staff and the food. He spend 10 days in November, 18 and we noticed that the facility could use some cleanup and the staff were not as responsive as in the past. It appears that the management needs to do a review of current staffing and procedures to bring the facility back up to the standards of a few years ago. My brother has been going to various nursing home facilities in the DFW area for the past 20+ years and at one time Bishop Davies was he best, but now it needs improvement. We hope this will be taken as a corrective review.

This building is horrible! There are a few staff members that actually do their job, but that doesn't make up for the 90% that don't do their job. The CNAs are lazy and don't want to care for the residents, they don't do simple housekeeping in the rooms like pick up old snacks and trash. There are roaches all over the building, they have had multiple cases of bed bugs. The administrator talks so rudely to the staff and does not allow the DON or nurses do their job. He may tell you one thing to your face but say something else to you later on that contradicts what he initially told you. The residents don't get their showers like they are supposed to. And over half of their staff don't speak or understand English so you can't communicate with them about what your loved one needs.

Never trust this facility with the welfare and comfort of a loved one. Our Mother required full time care as of July 9th due to a terminal illness diagnosed with several months to live; however, she did not receive appropriate care from day one. The nursing staff appears to be plentiful but they are lazy and useless. Even though family visited daily at various times of the day, the level of care did not change. It is obvious this is a for-profit business that spends no funds on decent equipment for the patients. They charge Medicare for the use of an appalling wheelchair without foot rests and leaves black marks on the patients arms due to crude repairs. Our Mother had to be rushed to the emergency room 2 weeks after admission due to severe bed sores, dehydration and pneumonia. Bishop Davies Nursing Center is an absolute dreadful place that needs to be shut down.

Bishop Davies has a monthly calendar of activities with a handful of things they can choose to do and be a part of. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Of the other nursing homes that I went to visit, this was by far a better overall facility. I'm very pleased with it. I deal with nursing homes a lot here in Oklahoma where I live, and generally nursing homes aren't very good. Bishop Davies also has bus transportation. They are very friendly. I haven't had anything bad to say to anyone. I think they have everything except assisted living. They have long-term care, respite, and hospice, too.

Stay away. Patients are neglected, the staff is lazy, the bathrooms are dirty and the staff will ignore all call lights. If you want to dump your relative somewhere and forget about them, this is the place for you. If you want your loved one cared for, keep looking.

We do not recommend Bishop Davies at all. Staff are not friendly unprofessional . They will loose your loved one's things and just state well I don't know where it is. It smells in here when you go down the isle it smells bad your loved one's will go to the bathroom and they will not change them for quite some times . Roaches in the room will there be in the kitchen area?? not sure we can't go inside. Sometimes they will forget to bring breakfast, lunch or dinner. All the nurses leaves at the same time and no one stays not even a single person stays at the desk in case someone calls to check on their love one's. The alarm when someone needs help it just keeps ringing and ringing and no one answers to see if one of the patients needs help. It just keeps going off. One day a lady said help when we went by one of the nurses said she will be ok I don't like to say anything to her when she is like that or when she does not say anything. The shared rooms sometimes the bathrooms are dirty and smelly and they don't care about it. They will loose you loved one's things in this place. Not a place to have your loved one's at. You can hear some of them screaming for help and nothing is done about it. This place does not care about anyone they don't take your love one's out of bed they just stay in bed the whole day. They get bed sores they don't check them as they say every hour or nothing. Stay away

The staff was fine at Bishop Davies. My friend is in a really nice room. We don't have a lot of staff that has to tend to him so much. Maybe he needed to have more physical therapy, but they were fine. He said the food is pretty good and the place is clean. It's also close to where I live.

My mom stayed at this facility for 4 months and we had at terrible experience. We chose them thinking that they would they good care of my mom, but she ended up going back in the hospital because they gave her some other patient's medicine which is not prescribed by her doctor. The nurse just assumed that she can take the other patient's medicine, assuming that the doctor would prescribe the same. The healthcare staff were so uncaring and very unprofessional. They don't have any concern about their patients. The place is horrible and unsanitary.

I visited this facility

Bishop Davies Nursing Center offers a range of nursing options, from Assisted Living to full-time nursing care. Specializing in geriatric care, Bishop Davies accepts both Medicare/Medicaid and private insurance. Unfortunately, this is where Bishop Davies creates a large divide in the services offered. If paying by private insurance, the accommodations include plushly carpeted hallways, spacious rooms with private bathrooms, oak trim, paintings on the wall and a noticeable lack of nursing home equipment. Sadly, the Medicare/Medicaid wing of the facility is the complete opposite. Residents are parked in bare, starkly lit hallways for hours, rooms are double occupancy with shared bathrooms between each room. A clear nursing shortage exists for this side as well. I would only send a loved one to this facility if I were privately paying or on private insurance.

Bishop Davies on hurstview drive in hurst texas is a nice facility I had lunch there a couple days ago with a friend and her grandmother. The lunch was good, the dining area appeared to be very clean and the other residents overall appeared to be well taken care of. Also the facility was clean and the rooms were nice and comfortable. We also later went to the rehab area with her grandmother before leaving and the rehab staff were very friendly and seemed good at what they do. I would definitely recommend this facility to anyone seeking a nursing home for their loved one.

My name is Cody and I recently finished my CNA (Certified Nurses Aide) school and tests. This is the assisted living facility where I did my clinical's. After I was done, I was at least positive that I would not be applying for a job there. This place was the worst medical facility I have ever been in. The staff was lazy, and the supervisors weren't any better. The CNA that was training me and which I was ""shadowing"" would often be texting or talking on her cell phone WHILE supposedly taking care of patients. The entire week that I spent at this facility, I consistently found patients that had not been changed, or turned, or seemed to be even checked on in a really long time. The overall facility was also very dirty. I would definitely not recommend this place to anybody, this is not where you want to leave your aging loved ones.
