I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

I had my partner at OSA Heritage Homes, located in Katy, TX for about 3 months. The facility was clean and had a nice atmosphere. I, was told that the hours to visit was from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and you needed to call to let them know you are coming. Which I think is very odd. The staff was nice at the beginning of his stay. After a month their was two ladies who worked there that were very rude and lazy. When, you ask them for something they acted as if you were bothering them. They would rather play on their phones or sit in a corner and sleep. The staff was not good at shaving him twice a week like I had ask them to do. I shaved him twice myself in the last two months he was there. I was told thanks for doing that since they had not done it. I believe this is basic care in most facilities. When he went into hospice care the hospice people said that I could visit whenever I wanted due to his declining heath. Hospice was called in one month after his arrival. The owner would not let hospice personnel come in to bath or shave him. Which was not getting done very often. He stated it was because he had his on staff that did that. Yet medicare pays for this service. On Wednesday 12/6/2023, I had ask for him to be shaven which was not done. On, 12/08/2023 the night before his passing. I visited the facility, the lady acted like she did not want to let me inside. After entering and signing in I went inside his room. He had not been bathed, nor shaven and had terrible body odor. I personally with not recommend this facility at all.

I visited this facility

My overall experience at OSA Heritage Home was good. The place was fine. The staff communicated very well. All our answers were answered how we needed them to be. The only problem was that it was just too far. I wanted something within 10 minutes away from here. It was in a very nice neighborhood. The rooms were a good size. The living room was a good size. However, the AC duct tape things needed to be cleaned; it was dusty. They had a backyard with a porch. Of course, it's too hot right now to go out there, but it was good.

I visited this facility

I liked that I was able to speak to the owner of Osa Heritage Homes-Katy versus just the worker. He seemed flexible, helpful, and patient as he answered all my questions. He had a beautiful home and it was very nice, clean, and well organized. There's only one person there now, so Mom would get better one-on-one care. The house was in a beautiful, high-end neighborhood. They had a sidewalk that goes around for physical therapy and a TV. They provide activities, but I would have liked to have somebody come in to work on activities rather than just asking what the person likes to do and go from there.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My son is a resident of OSA Heritage Homes, and he's doing OK there. The food is good and he even ate food that he has never eaten before. His room can fit his hospital bed, a chair, a dresser to put his stuff in and they also have cable for his TV. It's a really nice room with his own bathroom. It's just like a regular home. They don’t have amenities like a library or whatever.
