My father-in-law has been in the Riverside Drive location for the past 10 days. His air conditioning has been off and on, but mostly off (or ineffective) for his entire stay. It took several days to get anyone to look at it. He was a resident for 5 days before they gave him a shower. His trash can has been literally overflowing onto the floor for 5 days and did not get emptied until we did so yesterday. His toilet got stopped up 5-6 days ago. They cleared it late that day (after several hours), but there have been feces all over the toilet bowl for the last 5 days. I finally found a nurse who I asked for a brush and some cleanser so I could clean the toilet. The nurse said he would clean it but just showed up with some napkins and wipes. I hope he cleaned it at some point after I left. I was told that they are short staffed, but if you are a nursing facility and you cannot accomplish simple housekeeping you should close your doors until you are ready and staffed to open. The residents deserve much more and it makes us upset to see our loved one living in filth.

Only leave your loved one here if you don't want them to get better, be safe, or ever come back home. Food is awful, the medical care in on existant, and no one EVER answers the phone. If you want to talk to someone you will need to go in person. The Administrator has no clue and takes no responsibility.

The rooms were cleaned regularly. I liked the staff. One aide was phenomenal, she always gave you what you needed. Traci also helped with everything. Therapy was excellent. I would recommend this place.

ITEMS I EXPERIENCED PERSONALY: 1- Food delivered 75% / 85% of the time totally cold and not eatable. i.e. cold biscuit and gravy, cold barbecue, cold vegetables, cold potatoes, and try eating a scoop of cold oatmeal delivered as a side item on a plate! This one even fooled me as I jabbed at the ball of oatmeal several times trying to figure out what it was ? What a treat ! 2- Inadequate bedding. No clean sheets, pillow cas.es, or bed spreads. My first couple of nights I slept on a mattress cover with a thin bed spread. When I complained about this I was told that they were on order or that they were in the wash. That gave me a real comfort feeling ! 3- A lack of laziness I have never seen. Where do they get there employees? A lot of blame games but no one running with the ball. 4- The toilet in room 407 does not work ! Stopped up after being plunged 4 times. At least they tried. I left with the toilet being stopped up ! I had to use the toilet on one occasion and could not use mine. The technician took me to the shower room to go. She opened the door and let me in bit when I found the toilet it was a filthy inhuman mess. I told her that I could not use this toilet and she asked me why not ? I told her to look at it. “ This gets good – keep reading” She went in to inspect the toilet and then blamed housekeeping for not doing there job. One would think that she would jump in and clean up the situation. Nope, not a chance. She shut the door, left the toilet as it was, and took me to another toilet When I was finished I went to my room and passed the patient T.V. room. The technician that left a dirty toilet was in the room watching T.V. Does that give you a fuzzy feeling? 5- Lack of Management and leadership ! Good luck finding a body when you enter the office area. When you do find someone you get the same story that everyone else has told you. i.e. things are on order, they will take care of it and things just remain the same. I had a private meeting with the C.EO who is a very young woman by the name of Britney. I told her what was going on and told her that she needed to get tough. She told me that she was tough and I looked at her, pounded my chest and told her that she was looking at tough! I have managed a lot of businesses and even my own. I told Britney that I would NEVER – EVER allow these type of things to go on under my management. Britney got up to leave and I informed her that I was going to write this letter and send it as far as I could go.. The only thing she asked was that I copy her.. I also told Britney that I felt that she was way over her head as CEO. Of course she told me that she was going to fix the problems and I left several days later with the same cold food, no bedding, and stopped up toilet. Comforting? 6- Lack of patient cleanliness. I was told that you get a shower every 3 days.. I don’t know about you all but after 2 days this Ol’ man starts to smell a little. After my first 3 days there I waited for my promised shower all day long. Day shift finally told me that my shower would be that night. I waited more and more and was promised that my shower would happen soon. The technician finally ran into my room and yelled to me that I was NOT going to get my shower and blamed it on Day Shift and not having any clean towels or wash cloths. I then asked her to help me to the sink, in my room, and just to help me wash my hair. She refused and left. Good thing that I had my cologne with me
