I visited this facility

My mother in law had a wonderful experience at Alameda Oaks, she was kept very clean, happily entertained, and her respiratory issues very well managed, with almost no flare ups for the year she resided there. Highly recomended.

Do not take loved one here!!!

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

I would recommend that no one place their loved one in this dump. We placed our mother there with congestive heart failure for therapy. At home she would not take her medicine and was going to emergency often. Since we were all located in other cities we decided to place her there. She died after 3 months. When I visited they had not changed sheets, nor did they make sure she took her medication. She had a staph infection for months and pneumonia and not once was I informed of her health. The medical staff never sent her to the hospital and she actually called 911 herself and they threatened to remove her phone. They waited until her blood pressure dropped way below normal and she couldn't breathe to seek help. She died that day. Till today they haven't sent a condolence card. Do not take your love ones here!!!!!!!

I visited this facility

Alameda was very nice and had a homey environment. Even though it is a nursing home, the furniture and the carpeting in the hallways made it a little cozier. Everybody was very friendly. People who were busy were even friendly. It looked like they had more staff than some of the other places. They had service animals that freely walk around and, if they feel like being pet, they would jump on somebody’s lap. I thought it was really a nice touch to have that. Every wing had its own little lobby, so none of the patients stayed in their rooms all day. They put them in a wheelchair and walked them out into the hall and don’t leave them in the room, which was nice. They had a little living room in every end of every hall, so everybody had their own living room that they can go to and not just stay in their room. Our experience was not good because they did not accept my father. We kept asking why, and they beat around the bush. At first, they were very open to accepting him, then when they found out that he had an issue with the medicine at the hospital, they didn’t want him, but they would not tell us that. Even though it was a really nice facility, I feel that they choose who they want and who they don’t want.

We chose this facility because they are rated 5 star by the state of Texas and has been voted Best of the Best for the last 3 years. Walking through the halls everyone greets you with a smile. I am confident that my mother is recieving quality care. My mother enjoys her time in therapy and has never had any complaints.

I visited this facility

I would steer clear from this facility. We placed our mother here only to realize they falsely advertised their expertise with Akzheimers patients. Our mother was not able to eat on her own. When we stopped in to visit, a nurse stood over her as she sat crying and was shaking. She was only able to eat soft food yet this nurse was inpatient because she wasn't eating. I would NEVER recommend this facility to anyone who values their love one.

Our loved one was placed in this facility for hospice care. This was the best choice we couldve made. The care and compassion he received during his stay was beyond measure. The entire staff worked together as a team to ensure the best possible care. No doubt it's a Best of the Best facility in cctx!

I am/was a resident of this facility

I have been living in Alameda Oaks for almost a year now. They take good care of people here. There is a skilled nursing, then you can go to therapy. You can live in a room with a roommate. They have good meals most of the time, but I am use to frozen food and the microwave. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. They will give you a paper on what they are offering and you just circle it to makeyour choice. The staff is very caring. They have activities every day, but I don't participate because I don't like being around too many people.

I visited this facility

Dont know what to say other than it IS a nursing home. We bring a lot of joy to the residence there by just having a conversation, because most of there families have abandoned them. I love the people, but the attachments hurt when it comes to hospice caring, which seems as an inevitable loom there.

Friend or relative of resident

I would strongly suggest to look into other facilities before placing your love one here. Our mother suffers from Alzheimer's Disease. The care she received here was apauling. They failed to administer her medications, nursing staff was rude. One on one feeding was not being done as expected. A definite "NO" on this one. Our mother lasted 4 days and we took her the heck out of here!
