Brookwood is a state of the art facility located in the countryside on a massive plot of land where residents live full time. The staff are highly trained and professional. The facility is supported by highly dedicated donors and retail stores which sell custom made crafts made by the residents. There is a wide variety places for activities for the residents, including a large swimming pool most country clubs would envy, greenhouses for residents to grow various types of plants in large quantities, and a facility where they can make various types of ceramic and concrete craftwork. Workers try to include residents in most aspects of the retail support for the facility, ranging from the creation of sellable crafts and planting of plants to the transportation of the goods to the stores. Unfortunately the cost for families to send their relatives to Brookwood is very high, and the facility can only accommodate so many people.

The Brookwood Community is a private non-profit God-centered community for adults with intellectual and functional disabilities. We have a residential program in addition to a day program that employs over 200 citizens in jobs in our enterprises – horticulture, ceramics, bottling salad dressing, working in our Café - are some examples. Approximately 115 citizens live in homes on our campus, and the remainder live with their families and come to their jobs in our enterprises from 8:30 – 4:00 each day. Our citizens earn a paycheck, and gain the self-esteem that comes from having meaningful work.
