Cibolo Creek was very nice. I'll probably go there to inquire about my aunt. We were doing services there for a while. I also visited someone there a couple of times. Fewer and fewer people were coming to the worship and part of that I think is that they didn't have a very good activities person. You have to have somebody in charge of getting all that arranged and making sure that the residents get to whatever it is. Maybe one or two people would be there, and I never saw an activities person ever. That's why I was kind of disappointed there, but I know things change and things go up and down and I am going to check there. The other thing besides the activities director was a bad smell which I had never experienced in any of the other places. It's like the smell of urine. We didn't see that many staff, but they were nice. Except for that smell, everything else seemed fine.

My dad is doing rehab at Cibolo Creek in Boerne. I've been there and I've seen it. He's been there for a little bit now, and they're great. The physical therapists really are helping my dad, and he's actually improving. They communicate with me every day. I get to see his physical therapy going on. I'm there watching them and they're really great. They communicate very well. The rooms are really nice and they're very clean. The only thing I don't like is they make you wear the PPE that's very uncomfortable and hot. That's the only thing I don't like. The cleaning lady comes in once a day to clean this room and his bathroom, so it's very clean. It's like a home but it's a hospital kind of homey feel. I don't know how to explain it. It feels comfortable to go into, but it still feels kind of hospital-like in some sense. The staff is very nice and communicates well. If I have questions, they're there, and they answer my questions, especially the caseworkers there. She called me today because I was upset about something that had come up, and she called me and reassured me. It's amazing that if you are worried about something, they answer it. They try to fix everything, so I'm very happy so far. He doesn't like the food, but my dad doesn't like healthy food. The food they have is healthy, so he needs to just get used to eating healthy food.

I placed my mom at Cibolo Creek and it was a truly amazing experience. The staff treated her like family from day one. They went above and beyond to ensure she was comfortable and well cared for at all times. The nurses were fabulous and kept me informed of her progress. They kept her doctor updated on her progress and even scheduled an appointment with her doctor at the time of discharge. She loved the food and the facility is nearly spotless. We only spent a few weeks at the facility but all of the staff addressed me by name and greeted me on each visit. Her therapy team was amazing and nurses were exceptional. I highly recommend this place!

I am the spouse of a patient at the rehab center. They are severely understaffed and my husband has had to lie in his own urine more than once because there was no one willing or able to assist him. They primarily have contract workers, not staff, with the facility. I didn't realize that when he arrived there was neither a Director of the Facility nor was there a Director of Therapy, When he first got there he went five days without a shower until I asked about the shower schedule. He had a pressure wound and the RN on duty refused to assist him to the bathroom and told him to "just go in his diaper". There have been a number of occasions where my husband has had to sit on the toilet while waiting for someone to help him. get off. I have never seen or spoken to the medical director and I spent most of the month of October at the facility. He was lying in own urine today for about four hours because no one would come help him. He is on blood thinner medication and they are not monitoring it properly per the hematologist and cardiologist we saw outside the facility. As a matter of fact, the cardiologist suggested that we find a new place for him to go. . I am trying to get him out of there as quickly as possible before he develops another blood clot that kills him. I am not asking the staff for any special treatment; I am merely asking them to do their job in taking care of my husband. Don't let the "shiny floors" and "clean smell" deceive you.

My mother is now at Cibolo Creek Nursing Center. There's room for improvement, but the overall attitude of nurses, aides, and administrators is good. The dining room is nice. They don't have that very many choices as to what they can eat, but my mother was pretty limited anyway, so it's not a game-changer for me as far as the food. They're very safety-oriented and safety-conscious about patients that might fall or who are immobile. The whole facility seems to be very safety-conscious.
