About Lonestar CareHomes - Bastrop
At Lonestar CareHomes, we provide houses and manufactured homes, instead of small studio apartments, for older adults to live as independently as possible within a family home of their peers with onsite caregivers, allowing them to age in place with a familiar lifestyle, so they can avoid moving to an institution.
The list of benefits is long, so here are a few of the main ones:
- Continue life in a familiar manner, in a regular community/neighborhood.
- Who wants to live in an apartment when they can live in a house?
- Basic chores are all taken care of by a Caregiver including meals, meds, bathrooms, cleaning and social activities.
- Be part of a family living with your peers, not isolated in an apartment alone.
- The cost of living and care is split between residents making it affordable.
- Seniors get much more personal attention and a stronger bond with their caregiver as there is a maximum of 6 to 1 ratio between caregiver and residents. Compare this to a large apartment-style community, where there might be 30 residents or more, to one staff member.
- You have a private bedroom in a home, but are not isolated and cut off as you now belong to a new family with 2 of your peers.
The cost of living with us is made affordable by group discounts for a regular bedroom in a normal residential home. Cost includes food, utilities, cable, Internet, phone and home care for activities of daily living.
What Makes Us Special
We are passionate and committed to making quality senior living affordable in a non-institutional environment. We care deeply about the elderly and our Veterans, seeing them treated with the dignity and respect they deserve.
