My uncle was a resident of this facility. The room was fairly clean with unpleasant smell. The staff did not check on him on a regular basis. When they delivery his food to eat if he was sleep they did not wake him. When they came back to pick up his tray and he was still sleeping they took it without waking him up to eat. In the short time he was there two weeks he lost a lot of weight. This is not a good place to have your love one. With the virus it was very difficult to get things done.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident
My brother was a resident at the facility. He needed to be re-position in his bed. He was putting pressure on the bed sore that was causing him extreme pain. He also needed water he put on his call button for the staff. He put me on the phone to talk to the staff so he received the care with respect. We waited eight hours and no one came. I tried to call the facility could not get through. He suffered for the entire time he was on the phone waiting for someone to come. After two hours I tried to call him no answer. Tried to call the facility could not get through. The nurse called me a few hours later to tell me that he had passed away.
I would not under any circumstance place anyone in this facility. No one last days here on this earth should suffer in pain due to neglect.

Heitage Oaks, Arlington, Tx
Professional, caring, friendly, open to questions from the family, knowledgeable, hard working ..these are some of the words to describe the staff at this facility . The room was very spacious, clean and with all the medical equipment needed, nutritious meals according to the patient's needs.Thank you to all the nurses, OT, PT, Speech Therapists, and administration for the excellent care provided to my father.
Highly recommended!

My sister moved to the nursing facility in Heritage Oaks. It's been very nice. The staff has been very good and we haven't had any problems with them. When my sister first moved in, they acted very quickly to get the one issue we had resolved for us. When she was in the rehab facility, my sister said the food was very good. They have bingo, Trivial Pursuit, and on Fridays they have a bead session, so they have a lot going for them. The place could just use a little cosmetic cleaning.

The only word that comes to mind is NEGLECT!! I came in Friday evening and no one did my blood sugar. The bipap machine did not work the 3 days I was there. Had to beg for 3 extra hours for my pain med n 10 hours for a muscle relaxer I had to ask my day nurse if she was going to do my blood sugar before breakfast and when I asked her about it she said she didn't get that in report! So if they don't get it in report who knows what other orders they miss. I have a bad back and have to have a lounge chair which they told my case manager they had but told me my family would have to bring me one if I wanted one. I was really sick by Sunday. I had a fever, could not breath and was very anxious to the point I was begging them to send me to the ER and they ignored me. I finally got them to call my doctor who ordered a chest x- ray and blood. At 6 am Monday my doctor called and told them get me to hospital right now as my potassium was 1.9 and had fluid in lungs. When ambulance got there they put me on heart monitor and I was having all kinds of bad rhythms of my heart. So I was dying. The food looked like piles of dog food. Supervisor was rude as well as night crew. I would not even send my sick dog there!!

I was in Heritage Oaks for a while. The second time, I was there for about three months. I loved it. I had physical therapy, and the staff was really good. They had dominoes, bingo, movies, cards, art classes, and a class where you make jewelry. They also took people out to Walmart or the Dollar Store. I had a room by myself that was pretty big for one person. Every morning, they came and cleaned. The grounds were kept up and big but not really large. You could go out and sit if you wanted to or walk around.

Heritage Oaks wasn’t so good. I want to sue them. When I got my wife out, all her skin was peeling off. Then I got it on me. It took over a year to get rid off this stuff. The room that she was in was spacious, and they kept it clean. The food was nice. I got her out because she was going downhill fast. I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone.

I am a friend or relative of resident
I want to express my appreciation to Heritage Oaks for accepting my friend Medicaid pending when no other facility would. When I placed my friend at Heritage Oaks she was experiencing the worst behaviors due to dementia. She screamed and cursed constantly due to her illness. Even though I lived in fear for almost two years that Heritage Oaks would tire of her uncontrollable yelling and discharge her, they never did!! I worried about my friends care constantly because her behaviors could have made the staff not want to be near her. That was not the case. Especially the day staff of hall four!! They were devoted to my friend and I appreciate everything they did to care for my friend.

I attended rehab here after breaking my hip. I was impeased with every aspect of my care-from receiving meds on time to the kindness of all that cared for me.

I visited this facility
Heritage Oaks has some bad rap out there from YEARS ago, but from what I have seen it has really taken itself and cleaned up and completely have done a 180! The facility is a tad older but thats okay they are renovating. Also, the nurses all there take the time to say hello to each neighbor(as they call it) and always try and offer them someting to do or eat. I really was impressed with this place!

I visited this facility
I recently visited this facility and was quite impressed with the level of care and love shown to the residents. The staff seems to treat the residents like family.
The building is not the greatest, but it looks like they are also renovating so that should improve.

I visited this facility
I would NEVER let my loved ones nor my enemies for that matter stay in this place. I visited in April 2012 to see about a new home for my dad. During the tour, there were several issues that caught my immediate attention:
1. The place stunk like urine. It hit my sister and I as soon as we walked in. We even overheard staff there say it was worse than "the usual".
2. Residents were lining the walls in their wheel chairs. Not once during the tour did the staff address the residents. No touching, no waving, saying hi...nothing with the exception of my next comment...
3. There was a new resident in the hallway. She said she was lost as this was her 2nd day there and she needed to find the way to the dining room as it was dinner time. Our tour guide told her to wait, that he was busy and would see about helping her later. My sister and I looked at each other stunned and appalled. I had to actually told him to help her.
I felt compelled to post this after I saw the channel 4 6pm news today showing an elderly female resident here being pulled up by her hair, pinched, and pushed around in the face with a pillow! And her daughter works there! How do they treat the elderly that don't have visitors to check up on their will being? And the administrator basically tried to cover it up. I feel for the people in here.
Please visit nursing homes several times, unannounced, and at various times of the day and night before placing your loved ones.
